Power Steering issue.

Power Steering issue.
I was driving home for work today when my powersteering cut out. At first I thought it was just a blown fuse. But I pushed in the clutch and turned off the car and then turned it back on. And the powersteering was back. For about 5 minutes. And then it cut out.
Well I got home and checked the fuse. #19 in the cabin. It's fine.
Any ideals?

my friend welcome to the club i've been to the dealer 8+ times with no fix..my power steering shuts off and my gauges freakout..i've narrowed it down to a short in the wiring harness..i've had my bcm..pcm..ecm..replaced still does it...

I would say it is possible that it is a short, but a better guess would be that the elctronic steering module is going out. Probably overheating and shutting off then after you turn off the car and turn it back on the module comes back on; at least until it overheats again then shuts off. If you are under warranty take it in to the dealership and have them fix it. I know the electronic steering box is on the column and I think it i s a real pain in the ass if you have to do it yourself.

No. I mean my gauges don't freak out.
