Problem: O2 sensor cable is 1/4 inch too short!

I got a Vibrant header/downpipe for my LSJ, everything went very well, bolts up perfectly. The only issue being that the cord for the rear 02 sensor in the downpipe is now literally 1/4" too short. I can tug on it and almost get it in, but it's just too short.

I've tried turning the 02 sensor every which way to see if I can gain 1/4" I need, but I appear to have it in the optimal position right now.

That being said, does anyone have experience splicing and soldering extensions on 02 sensors? I have electrical wire to do it with, but I don't know what gauge wire the 02 sensor uses. Does it matter that much?

Thanks

I don't have experience cutting and splicing, but you could always try and get extender harnesses for it. Also, since I don't have an LSJ and have no idea where the plug is sitting, can you unclip the plug on the vehicle harness side to try and get a few extra inches? Usually there is a christmas tree clip on the bottom of the plug, and if you slide it out you can move the harness around a bit, might give you extra length if the LSJ is set up like the LNF in that respect.
