Were they difficult to put in?? Reason for asking is i got some Gen 1 halos coming sometime this week and they say that they come with H1 bulbs... I am a little scared about the bulbs b/c i have heard they dont last long.

halogens are easy as pie to put in-
but for the HID bulb, it takes a little force to get the little clamp thing closed, nothing too bad to worry about. ill post a picture of my h1 clamps, and youll see what i mean

I have recently made Gen1s and I had HIDs in them as well, I took them right out because the light pattern was very similar to yours.....it sucked. There was nothing I could about it either. The halogens had a nice even spread, the HIDs had the Vshaped "hole" where there just wasnt any light.
You used to have to modify Gen1s to put HIDs in them, and supposedly they looked great, now the bulb slides right in and they suck.
if you trim the knubs on the bulb down to about half the height they are stock it allows the bulb to sit deeper in housing and makes it easier to latch the holddown.
