I've got the same issue and I suspect its the swaybar endlinks. Many, many people have reported the same problems with them. I'm about to go jack the front end of the car during lunch, although with the suspension dangling like that I probably won't notice anything loose.

In my case it WAS the swaybar endlinks. I replaced them, and its like having a new car again.

Steering never felt loose, just rattly.

I have a 2.2L and like to autocross... I must say that the endlinks on these cars are jokes. I plan on replacing mine, but will not be putting OEM back in.

funny same thing was happening to me and I just put on my sportlines, I checked the bolts and everything was fine but realised the clamps holding my intake on were kinda loose and my intake was rubbin and bouncing around a little. Tightened it real tight and it stopped

my sway bar end links are fine, ive brought the car to the dealer then a trusted mechanic both say the steering rack has noise in it and needs to be replaces "steering gear/rack" thats the exact rattles I have, although it hard to pin point it without video or what not. Ive already had the I shaft replaced which didint fix it... ill be replacing it within the next two weeks let ya know if it fixes anything...

the main reason my endlinks got messed up were most liekly from the lowering springs, and slamming a bunch of timess

Typical culprits.....sway bar links, struts or strut mounts, control arm bushings... most common, especially if the only symptom is the rattle and the struts seem fine, is the sway bar links. Jack it up and you should be able to feel play with some pliers. Replace sway bar links and bushings and you should be fine.

no they got messed up because once on lowering springs, your cars slams harder on bumps, therefore ******* up the end links..

but some actually squeaks though like every now and then,,, something to do with turning the wheel i think....any idea if something just needs lubrication?

there is a tsb out for it.

i described a rattle while going over bumps to the dealer and they fixed it with the steering column.

my car is bone stock. no lowering once so ever. so there has to be something else that is making this happen. Alot of play while the car isnt moving. I cant replicate the noise by turning the steering wheel left and right...
