I have an '05 Base Pursuit Sedan that has a borked rear bumper. The collision occurred with another car, scraping some paint off the rear bumper and throwing it off alignment. (Is pushed out at the sides a bit and appears to hang down, slightly.)

I don't know what might be wrong behind the bumper - though a visual inspection shows that nothing appears to be wrecked behind it. I was wondering what a body shop would typically do to remedy this? Total bumper replacement? Just fixing the blemishes?

Does anyone have any wild, ballpark guesses on what I would probably end up paying to have it fixed? I haven't taken it anywhere to be looked at yet as I'm not familiar with the process and don't want to actually pay someone to look at it (if that's how it works) quite yet.
