Retro fit headlights

Hey guys,

So a couple of months ago i decided to take on the task of building my own retrofit headlights. The lights themselves cam out great aside from the issue I'm having. My lights work but only on one setting not sure if its high or low. I have h1 projectors and and h1 bulb in them. I also have the appropriate rely harness for it hooked up. My question is why won't the flap inside the projector move. I know the h1 bulbs are the same brightness and offer no high or low features, but the projector has a flap inside that is supposed to moderate high and low but doesn't. Anyone have any ideas?

could it be because i ran the wires that control the highs and lows in between the projector and housing itself? Maybe not enough current getting through or something?

Really simple question, did you connect the solinoid for the bi-zenon to the relay?

And you will know if it's high or low depending on the cut off line or lack of cut off line.

Normally I would say it's an issue of swapping wires in the harness but if you only have highs or lows then that's not the problem

Yes everything is connected and they are only projecting lows they do not switch to high beams

That doesn't help at all, what bulb style? Do you have a link to the ebay item?

Change the pins so it matches the second picture on that page. Cobalts come stock with 9007 and I'm assume the harness is 9004. Also make sure that the control is wired correctly from the shield to the relay, a pinched wire isn't going to stop it from working, but a broken or reversed polarity will.

You have to make sure the wire colors on the blue connector match the 9007 picture, if they don't (most come in the 9004 configuration) you have to change the wires around.

For the hi/low shutter it has to be wired correctly to function, DC has a positive side and a negative side if they're not connected correctly (positive to positive and negative to negative) it won't function properly. But I would start with the blue connector.

Most likely what ecaulk said. My morimoto harness was wired the wrong way so no doubt an ebay harness can be as well

On mine i took a small screwdriver to the pin side and pried while i pulled on the back side of the pin with needle nose.

Not really sure with your harness. My problem was that only my high beams worked on both settings. My fix was the blue connector that plugs into the headlight harness had the two outer wires flipped.

Check grounds and fuses. Then grab a stock bulb and plug it into the stock side harness and see if it works
