retrofit help PLEASE

So I got a pair of custom made PnP retros and I was installing them today. I started with the drivers side and I got the original light out and put the retro in and tested it and it worked fine. So i started on the passanger side and i got the original light out and then put the retro in and then neither of them started working. I checked all my fuses (none were blown) and my ground and power wire (both were in the correct locations) and still neither of the projector lights came on (the turn signal bulbs in both lights worked still). so to make sure it was something wrong with my car I reinstalled my original headlights in both sides and they worked perfectly so anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

In the same place as one of the cars grounds, or on an unpainted metal area ideally.

ya im actually not sure the headlights are the problem now. Last night at 1am i went to start my car and the engine wouldnt roll over. I didn't leave anything on and my original headlights shined bright and everything had power but my engine shouldnt wouldnt roll over. So hids take more power to work right? I think if there was a short or something that could be why my hid projector bulbs didnt work but my regular halogen turn signal bulbs still did and why my engine would roll over. Any thoughts?

Oo also how do you check the square grey fuses to see if they are blown?

headlight swapping should have nothing to do with the engine turning over or not turning over

Are you using a relay harness and maybe have bent a blade on of of the terminals so it's not working properly?
