like i said, cobalts are halfway to new GM, better than crap from when we were born but not world class like EVERY new gm product. google a 2009 buick lacrosse and the 2010. google the chevy cruze or any new car, they're top notch. cobalts are great on power thats their pupose

I had that happen to me exactly was just driving and the damn thing just stuck to the palm of my hand. There is no fix it's just glued on like others have said. I took it to the dealer when I still had warranty and believe it or not they ended up replacing the whole assembly shifter and all it's the only way it comes. The part alone was about $245.00 and labor was a liitle over and hour so that little piece of plastic cost the dealer about $400.00 gotta love warranty work.

GM didn't use glue....the cover has 3 retainer tabs and you can buy the pattern cover separately

Alright so to the people who super glued it.. Is it worth it so I don't have to waste time/effort at the dealership?

Orrrr should I go to the dealership?

well if your car is still under 36k and 3yrs why would you glue it back on when it would be covered under the bumper to bumper warrenty

^ Good point... lol.

I have a feeling the dealership will be like... Your illegal exhaust caused you to have too much power and when you shift with your high performance exhaust it makes you shift harder so we can't cover that under warranty haha
