I have a 2007 SS with GM stage 2. I had my engine breakdown last friday with a P0302 code. My car has 45,000 miles.

I had it towed to the dealer, and they said that the spark plug blew out of the cylinder head.

They quoted a new cylinder head repair for $4700 or a new engine for $7900. I never touched the spark plugs before.

Ouch, that hurts. I asked if chevrolet would help out with the repair, but they said no. They said that chevrolet said it was my car now.

I saw another post with similar problems. I think it was a manufacturing defect.

 

Why would Chevrolet help you out, its a 9 year old car? Either way 4700 is a rip off. Just get a used head and have it installed somewhere else.

 

That happened to me too. My car is in the shop right now because of this. Good luck it sucks I know.

 

Happened to me at 24k miles. I got Gm good will warranty. 300$ and out the door with a new head.
I have a spare Lsj head if u want to buy it. Get it decked and cleaned. Buy the head gasket. I'll include free head bolts slap it on and drive away

 

I see you're in Michigan, take it to zzp they'll be cheaper than a dealer

 

$7,900 could get you an entire 2008 LNF cobalt!
