Squeaky Alternator Pulley

I recently installed a ZZP hub and Nates 3.35 pulley along with the dual pass plate with option B and the Cobalt Addiction Heat Exchanger. Well anyways I have this really annoying high pitched squeak going on and at first I thought I didnt have the belt on correctly, so I checked it and put it back on. Noise is still there. Tried some belt dressing. Noise is still there. Put water on the belt like someone suggested. Noise is still there. Well today I popped the belt off and did some inspecting. The alternator pulley squeaks just the slightest when it is spun by hand. So any suggestions as to what I can do about this because it is driving me nuts! Its not bad at idle but the more throttle I give it the worse/ high pitch it gets. Someone suggested putting some grease on it but they wernt sure what grease to use or where exactly to place it. The only other thing I can think of is that the alternator isnt sitting correctly( I removed the alternator to get to that 15mm bolt that holds the intake manifold in place). Any suggestions would be greatly apprectiated! Also wish me luck on ripping my whole car apart again since I have to replace the O-rings in the dual pass plate with Viton ones instead of the Buna ones that are currently in there. (3rd time is the charm, right?).

Thanks.

If it is still squeaking after all the stuff you have done, I believe that your alternator is slightly out of line. Try taking it off, setting it down flat with the pulley up, and checking with a level to make sure that the pulley is flat. Also try spinning it by hand off the car to see if it makes any noise. You might have to take it to a shop and have them take it apart and check it out.

If it doesn't squeak off the car, make sure you put it back on straight and tighten up everything slowly, working around bolt to bolt without going all the way the first time. Gotta keep it on straight, other wise it will get angled and squeak again.

Well, I'm thinking most likely it is not lined up exactly right when you took it off and put it on. Being slightly out of line will make it squeak. Put it on the same way you would a wheel.

Thats what I get for rushing and not thinking. Hopefully tomorrow I willl have good news... along with a sound clip of my new QTP Electric Exhaust cutout.... oooo0000oooo

Heh, thats what I thought happen when you said you took it off. Most likely it is just barely out of line, but that is going to make it squeak.

Man.... everything is so picky these days! lol

Thanks InfinityzeN, thats all it was, I didnt properly tighten the alt right the last time. So after 2 hours of ripping everything apart, installing the new Viton o-rings in the dual pass and putting everything back together, NO SQUEAKS!!! YES!!
