Squeaky HVAC fan?

Does anyone have this issue? For a while, I have had a squeaky HVAC fan. When I turned the heat to level 1, it would produce a significantly audible squeak which went away at higher speeds. Now it is starting to produce an even louder squeak at Level 2.

Has anyone else had this? Do any of you know where the fan is so I can try to take my dash apart and oil it? It may sound stupid, but on an hour commute every morning, that squeak gets really annoying.

I had it too. They replaced it under warranty. A week later and it's already starting to get noisy again. GM FTL

The fan Im sure is located beneath the glove box behind the knee bolster(or what ever you call it ).

I've had this problem ever since about 3 days after i bought the car (2 years ago). I think its just normal for Cobalts and there's nothing we can do about it.

its the bearings on the fan. A lot of people of have this problem. In another thread someone said they took the fan out, packed it with grease, and reinstalled it and it went away.

The procedure to remove it requires cutting the plastic that holds the motor in and the the purchase of a service ring to reinstall it because you have cut the plastic.
If its been done under warranty there should be five screws holding the motor in,if not then the dealer I would say never did anything.

(This info is from looking at the procedure I have.)
