Angry Stage Ii Nightmare! Help!!!

SOMEONE HELP ME BEFORE I GO F'IN CRAZY!

Ok... lets just start out by saying... SCREW YOU MYRTLE BEACH CHEVROLET.

Deceided to get a 2.85 inch pulley from ZZPERFORMANCE, also picked up NGK 1 step colder plugs from them. Great service. Fast delivery. Less than 24hrs.... for real. So as far as ZZP goes...

I purchased a GM Stage II kit from Myrtle Beach Chevrolet. A part that should take 1 to 3 days to get in. Paid $802 and some change for the kit. The service guy tells me 1 to 3 days tops and he'll have my kit. About 5 days later... I return to the shop at 7:30 in the AM after working all night. They take my car, get me a rental and said they would call me when they were done. At this point... really excited. I return to the shop about 5 hours later when I got tired of waiting to receive a call. The service guy "James" says that my parts were not in yet. Interesting... I thought they would atleast check before offering me a rental and taking my car into the que for **** to be worked on that day.

Ok... I'll buy that. Sometimes people make mistakes or maybe the part was on back order like he said.... even though I have seen only two Cobalts in this area and both of them were from out of town/state and have yet to see another SS Supercharged... lots of LS and SS here... but no SC's... especially someone modding one. Anyway..... besides that, there are a ****-ton of these kits available on the internet for about $250 cheaper and could have had them next day.

THREE WEEKS LATER!

After not hearing from the dealership for three weeks, who had the wrong phone number for me (and didn't change that until last week I might add) I finally call, talk to my buddy JAMES again. Finally got the parts in and he quoted me $475 +/- for the job. Kinda high... but hey... WE WANNA KEEP THAT BULLSHIT WARRANTY DON'T WE. So I make an appointment to take it in early, once again after working all night.

Monday I think it was, not sure, but anyway, I take it into the GM dealership. James... says to me, "We might have to keep it over night... we havn't done one of these before... I was like... well from what I saw on the internet... install time is 1.5 to 4 hours. But take your time and do it right... I'll get my car tomorrow. Just have it done before Wednesday... I have to leave town at 4pm on Wednesday and drive to DC for a business meeting on Thursday and have to be in Pittsburgh on Friday for a DJ gig. I have a friend pick me up from the dealership... cos I am not a big fan of rental cars and off I go with hopes my ride would be done no later then next day.

Not done on Wednesday... said they were having trouble with the ECU reprogram, and the computer still thinking the stock injectors was in there. Offer me a rental car which is fine for around town, but I'm not payin for a rental car to drive up the freakin east coast... so I turn down the rental car... tell them to get my **** done ASAP... I NEED MY CAR. Some other employee mumbles something as he walks out the door about tryin to help me and me turning it down and (door seals and his fat lips are still moving) WHAT A *****!

Anyway, missed my meeting in DC by the way cos I had no wheels.

Due to the unreliable nature of this dealership thus far... I booked a flight to Pittsburgh on Wednesday night. Missed my meeting... can't miss the show cos thats what pays the bills. 11:57am Thursday... Landing at Pittsburgh Internationl Airport... I call James to check the status on my car. "Oh man... hang on... there uhhh sir, uhhh... they are washing it up now, and are going to take it for a test drive." You can come get it in
about 2 hours. I inform him that due to the fact they didn't meet the deadline I had to book a $395 plane ticket and that I will pick up the car on Saturday when I return. He makes proper arrangements for me to do so.

Saturday... picked up car. Pay $455 in labor charges.

Notice a power increase... but something feels odd... can't quite explain it at this point. And deceided to get used to the car again.

Sunday... car shuts off in the middle of 5pm traffic. Push it into a parking lot. Won't crank. Let it sit for a few. Car turns over.... COOL! BACK IN BUSINESS That was weird. But maybe it was driver error or something cos I was in and out of traffic trying to reach my destination sooner then later.

Monday.... wake up... get in car and after turning the engine on I notice a squeeky belt. I call good ole JAMES again and tell him my problem. He said it might need time to settle in. Uhhh ok... maybe a ******* would buy that excuse... but what the hell. He tells me to come back in if it didn't go away. At this point, I also asked him where my other parts were because I didn't find them in the car. My stock pulley, my GM Stage II pulley and my old injectors.... He said he would try and locate them, but the Tech wasn't in that day.... IMAGINE THAT!!!! Two days later... return to the shop after not hearing about my parts and getting real tired of this belt slip/squeel. They keep it all day Thursday and Friday. Picked it up today Sat Apr 15. Note said NO CHARGE... (wow thats a first from GM) CUSTOMER NEEDS ADJUSTABLE TENSIONER and NEW BELT.

HOLD THE F'IN PHONE A MINUTE

I know of Cobalts / Redline's that are running a 2.5 inch pulley, and a 2.85 and didn't buy a tensioner, larger tension pulley, or nuttin. Just a Stage II belt. Spoken with a few of them on this site and a few guys at a tuning shop that I know that have REDLINES. NONE OF THESE GUYS NEEDED THOSE PARTS... why just mine?

At this point I got an embarassing noisey cricket that squeels like a school girl after 4k RPM, no power due to heavy belt slip. And I am afraid I am going to ruin something running it like this. If the belt doesn't overheat and break or break something when it goes.

About the missing parts... JAMES tells me that unless I asked for them back, that 9 times out of 10 they are in the trash. Gee I paid for them... thanks for asking me *******.

I have made the decision at this point not to return to Myrtle Beach Chevrolet and have started a FILE with GM Customer Service, in hopes to get a refund for the parts and labor to either purchase the stock parts back or go with an after market company like Intense Stage 5 or just go all the way back to stock and get a twincharge setup in a few months.

This is my theory... correct me if I am wrong. I bet this is really the situation...

My stock parts... missed the trash and some backwoods GM Tech put them on EBAY! And they just put my old belt back on, instead of my Stage II belt. Or they screwed up my tensioner when they were putting things back on. Unknown at this point.

BTW.. cost from GM for this screwup has been $1650 and counting. $800 for the kit and $455 for the labor. $395 for the plane tickets cos they didnt have my car done.

SOMEONE HELP!!!!

As I said before... any ideas on how to fix this. My options at this point are this... Go with an INTENSE STAGE 5... decent bang for the buck. Or go back to stock... save about 4k and do a TwinCharge setup.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

On a closing note... UP YOURS MYRTLE BEACH CHEVROLET

A friend of mine told me that all I should have to do is install a GM stage II belt and make sure the monkey didn't ruin my tensioner, and I should be fine....

Once again, any input would be nice...

Thanks!

GM Customer care is useless as **** on a Bull! all they are going to do is refer you to the service manager who will jerk you off faster than a 5 dollar hooker!!!

Well this just has me between a **** and a panic...

All I wanted was to do a few mods... and preserve my warranty, otherwise I would have gone all aftermarket had this done correctly at PTuning in VA or Tony's Street Dreams in WV

But if this is the kinda work these ******** do... I don't even want them to change my oil... LOL!

I just want my money back... period. And If I don't get it... they can take this car and shove it up their cornhole. I think my credit is ok enough to pull my mods and let it go back... worse case, I'll go to a buy here pay here mom and pop shop and never purchase another GM product again, and nor will anyone in my family.

I paid for a service I didn't receive. I think that means I should get a refund. Or someone should be diggin through the trash that this James guy was talking about and finding my stock parts.

If GM garages throw parts away like that... when someone does a performance upgrade... I'm gonna start dumpster diving the dealership when its closed and start an ebay store... LOL! C'mon.... get with the ****** program... someone pocketed my parts... and their dumbasses put my stock belt back on.

....you paid 800$ for a kit you could have gotten for 550...... and you paid 450$ for labor that is only like a 2 hours job according to GM.....

Looks like some one exploded an oil grenade under my hood...

Took pics but don't know how to get them on here.

Went to the store to get a pack of smokes... noticed my supercharger stopped making noise on the way home... like it was laggin... no power in car... NONE! Got back to the house... drove it easy less than a mile to the gas station to get smokes.... and oil all over the engine bay... top of the hood... EVERYWHERE!

WTF!

if you look at pictures 5, 7, 11, and 12 you can see the dipstick is popped out. this has been happening alot with the SS/SC's because of excess pressure in the crank case when there is a decent amount of boost. i heard that GM determined that it was the intake gasket but i'm not 100% positive on that.

I just have a really bad feeling about this because I had them install a 2.85 inch pulley instead of my 3.0 that came with stage II. And I know they are going to argue with me over the INJEN intake and the Magnaflow Catback. They are going to try and blame this on my mods... I can see it coming.

Mods on this car is... Injen Intake. Magnaflow 2.5 catback, B&M shifter. Progress Technology Springs, 35% Tint. GM Stage II w/ ZZ Perfomance 2.85 inch pulley. 1 step colder NGK Sparkplugs. DC Sports Front Tower Strut Bar.

sorry about your problems man, you have all the right to want and recieve your original parts, some one puts rims on your car shouldnt you get the original ones back? rediculus the way they are treating you, id call the dealerships help line and ask to talk to a rep, explain every thing to them and demand they do something about all your troubles and parts. and if that doesnt work call a news company and threaten to talk to some one there. thats bull. dont settle for any thing less then total satisfication.

Well GM refused me a rental car... told me I'd have to pay for one myself.

That was nice of them.

I'm submitting my service orders tomorrow to an attorney. And I am going to call GM Customer Care and try and land a rental or some type of loaner car. At this point I am walking...
