Stage Ii Nightmare! Help!!!
#28
No offense buddy, but this is partly your fault for not knowing you can get the kit for 560, and then searching for a dealer that can do it for less /w experience installing them. Yes, it's the dealers stupid fault for "maybe" messing up your car, but who knows maybe it was how you drove it or your mods that made it do what it did.
Goodluck with the install. Hope everything does work out for you. Stage 2 is awesome!

I cant help but laugh at certain parts of your rant...
it wasnt necesarily your fault, cant blame you for being uninformed (of lower prices). But heres how I look at it....
You the customer, takes car in to get a stage 2....dealer messes it up....car goes kaboom.......dicks or not, they are required to fix it.
back when i had an old car, had some 7 spoke black w/chrome lip (same style as i got on my ss now), and i took it to a mechanics shop to get it worked on....
i had the rims + brand new tires.... when i goto pick it up, i dont notice until when i drive home its feelin odd....
buddy of mine calls me up and says "dude, theyve got your rims & tires on sale over here"....im like, huh? thats cool....
i get home and my buddy comes over and says "oh, you sold your other rims to them?" i said what the hell are you talking about...i looked. i had dark gray 5 spoke w/ shitty polished chrome lip....
i called the police, explained what happened..
i got my rims back....PLUS the rims they put on my car.

Update!
They deceided to do the work under warrenty. After a quote of $7,100 for an engine and me on and off the phone with GM Customer Care and a lemon law attorney, and throwing the word "MOTHER ******" around alot. LOL!
Seems James at Myrtle Beach chevy didn't turn out to be a bad dood after all. Said he "worked some magic" and they will be putting in a new engine. And mentioned about putting in GM stage II. Which they should considering I paid for it once already. The dealership has had my car for the last two weeks or so. And I should be picking it up tomorrow. Can't wait... this no car **** is for the birds. And considering they didn't get me a rental the local cab guys have been eating good.
As far as future mods for this car... there will be none. F**K IT! I'll just drive the bitch until the new Evo X comes out or maybe a new Camaro... who knows, who cares... I want something else to play with. I will be sorry to say I'm going to let this car go. Not saying anything bad about the Cobalt. I love it. Great idea... I just think they could have done better.
Its just left a bad taste in my mouth, who knows... I might keep it. But I doubt it.
I like the car... but its gonna take me another 4 to 5k to get the numbers I wanna get and pull like I wanna pull. Instead of blowing it on parts to only peak this car... I think I am save it for a trade off... God knows we all like that "negative equity" and use that money to get into another platform to mod on that has numbers off the lot that I am trying to reach now. IE - new Camaro estimated 400hp, Evo X - expected to be something over 300+
Who knows... I change my mind like models change underware...
Either way... I will be happy to get my car back... unless by some galactic screw up its not done tomorrow. Then I'll be back on here to vent some more.
I'll let "ya'll" know how tomorrow goes.
On a positive side... I do wanna thank those that have been helpful on this site.

Well... finally got fed up with the dealership and dopey the GM Tech... forgot his name... but most of ya saw Snow White & The 7 Dwarfs.... nuff said.
Anyway, I found out that the pulley they sold me after keeping my stage II pulley was not an actual Stage II pulley... thats NICE. I did a stop payment on my Discover card... and will be making a legal move about that. Discover did a temp credit until I can get them the documents... so as far as that goes... $424 that Myrtle Beach Chevrolet won't be getting.
And aside from not tuning the computer... they screwed up my tensioner pulley as well. Nice gash out of the side and messed up the grooves. Looks like they didnt know how to remove it.
Now everything is coming together... having Intense Stage 5 installed as I sit here and type this. Got a new tensioner unit, control arm bushings, and tranny mounts.... hopefully that will get rid of the wheelhop, and next up is new clutch n flywheel.
Hopefully everything will work out...
Stay tuned for updates..

It looks like your pulley on your charger and your tensioner pulley are not lined up on your pics. It might be the angle of the pic but it looks way off. they might not of pressed on the hub for the pulley all the way on. Read a few posts of it happening.
edit: They shouldn't have to take off your tensioner pulley to install the stage 2. Just the pulley on the charger. They prob didn't know how to remove your belt and removed the pulley from the tensioner asm.

Intense Stage 5 was installed.... in 1 day I might add, instead of the 4 days it took the dealership to do Stage II.
No change... since the new engine they installed with Intense Stage 5.... car is still choking and hitting Low Power mode which seems that there is something wrong with the internals of the engine. Chris @ Street Dreamz said it may be my timing chain. A brand new engine with timing chain slack.... thats nice. Unknown at this point what else is going on. All I know is the work on the Stage 5 is top notch... so there is something else going on.
Spent 3 hrs on the phone with GM Customer Care.... when checking back with the dealer in Myrtle.... they pretty much told me to go **** my self.
Going to try to have another dealer do a diagnostic and see what else may be going on.
Stay tuned....

I work at a dealership You need to demand to speak to the General manager there. Cause he probably has no idea what is going on. More than likely you won't get to talk to him the 1st couple of phone calls, but after a few times of calling he will talk to you. But be nice but firm. The squeaky wheel get's the grease.

First I'd say do research. I got a stage two for $550.00AMD from CED. Next, do more research. I got it installed at a dealer who has done many of these before for $160.00CAD flat fee.(I'd bet the lowest cost anyone here has found). Now.......
I think you are trying to do too much all at the same time.
I'd get that new engine and break it in a while before putting a stage kit on it just to see if there is anything that needs to be fixed with warrenty. So it takes a month or so but it's worth it.
I just don't see throwing everything on it before you break it in...............I'm sure that intense are top notch but if something goes wrong you will have to be back at the dealer or pay out of pocket.

Actually the dealer in Myrtle Beach is blaming everything on that 2.85in ZZP Pulley. And they voided my warranty. Therefore I am having everything else done at a shop where there are people that I trust to actually work on my car considering they have had a few of them (Redlines & such)
Anyway, the dealer has my VIN on some kinda redflag so even if I took it to another dealer there would be no warranty work done at all.
At this point we are trying to determine what the deal is with the "new" engine.
As far as breaking it in... I can't. Not at this point. Until we correct what ever is going on causing the car to choke and make that "slapping/grinding" on the inside of the engine.
I could out run the car with my Trek mountain bike at this point.
Poking around to see what is wrong...
More to come

For everyone's knowledge, we got the issue resolved. The car was throwing a number of codes and I had a guy at the dealership send me diagnostic run downs of the codes, I read through them and one made REALLY good sense. Sure enough my first place to look and first guess was right...it was the catalytic converter. It had melted and crumbled into a big nasty pile that fell all over the floor of the garage as soon as I pulled it off. The car is barely over 17,000 miles, this is horrible. I will be posting up a seperate post detailing my findings, hopefully someone can make it a sticky. I'll let him post up all his pictures of his new goodies

I am lucky to have CED just 25 miles away so I have them do everything on my car (great guys)
when doing GMPP mods... you MUST find a dealer who is experienced w/ doing those mods
