Took my steering column issue thru GM customer service. I have to pay the $200 deductible and GM will cover the rest of it. $800 total, so not too bad if you ask me. Still cheaper than having to buy the column and doing it myslef!

Is this an LNF problem or an LSJ part as well?

Does this part going bad also cause creaking noises? My car creaks like a son of a bitch when I turn the wheels all of a sudden, and it seems to be the steering column area. No sounds coming from individual sides of the car..seems to be the rack or column area.

I am slammed on coilovers, but this is a new thing for me.

It's not the intermediate shaft, issue you're experiencing is same as mine... had the same issue with my LS and had the intermediate shaft, strut tops, sway bar end links, etc replaced until dealership finally figured out it was the column itself.

Shitty plastic GM parts get worn out quick in it and rattle. GM is refusing to warranty this column because of my pedders, not any how related but I'm 75% set on trading my car in simply because I CAN'T F**KING STAND DRIVING IT AND LISTENING TO THE RATTLING EVERY TIME I GO OVER SMALL BUMPS!!!!!!!! My 95 Chevrolet Corsica I still have with almost 300,000 has a better steering column!
