Steering "Rattle"

Hey guys,

I believe this was addressed before, but I'n not sure what to look under or what to do..

I've got the infamous Cobalt steering rattle. The rattle that comes from the steering shaft type area. What is the fix for this? Is it any type of recall, or just something that goes? How hard to replace, how much? Etc.

Also, when I do my struts, I'm gonna install the taller steering rack spacer to eliminate my bump steer. How hard is that to install?

Thanks!

honestly the faint rattling you might hear, is bad tie rods. it seems when im driving on the highway with the music up i can hear it, and whne i turn the music down i cant. but i finally got around to checking all my suspension, and my right inner tie rod is messed up

Are you lowered at all?

There is some discussion on steering rack spacers, bump steer, etc here: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/susp...pacers-209706/

Some have more problems than others installing them.

I found that the spacers get rid of "turning grinding" but does not completely eliminate bump steer. (Bump noises in the steering column when going over bumps at a slow speed.)

I am lowered, but it's none of those "broken ****" noises. I've always had this. Like when you're driving on gravel and ****..
