Stock SS downpipe cracking
I made this thread to see if anyone else has ever had their stock ss downpipe crack like mine has twice now, about a year ago i noticed a sound that resembled an exhaust leak, i checked it out and suspected it was the down pipe but sent it in for warenty work and sure enough it had cracked in the bend, and today i noticed the same sound again, i looked and found a hairline crack in the dp again! is this just me or is this a problem with the gm dp?

Never heard of this in my 3 years of being on this forum.
You must be the first Cobalt SS in North America to have the stock flexpipe crack.
It's common. Even if you don't beat on it, the movement of the motor ruins the flex section.

That's because the exhaust flows more and the stock engine calibration thinks there is a problem with the catalytic converter. It has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the exhaust component installed.
