Supercharger whistle noise issue
Hi guys, a few days ago a whistle from the engine bay start (not that normal whistle from the supercharger), it is an annoying sharp noise, it happens only when i go full throttle and when the supercharger works from 0 to 15 psi's, i was worried that could be from the gears of the supercharger because a lack of oil, but i already check and is good, so if anyone has gone through this i will apreciate a lot the help.
I took a little video, here is the link.

It sounds more like a problem in the intake more than a problem in the supercharger. It sounds like a whistle like when you blow air across a thin sheet of plastic or paper. I would start with the air intake piping and the filter and see if it could really be that simple. This is the first ive ever heard that noise from our s/c

I'm getting the same exact noise.. People are telling me its a clogged cat because I'm also over boosting slightly. I'll be replacing my exhaust system hopefully next week I'll let you know what happens.

yes you are right, it sounds like the air are escaping through a small orifice, i already check the air filter and the piping and seems to be fine, i used a whose to try to localize the source of the noise but i cant find it, and even it cant generate more than 5 psi without the noise and it loose all the power after those 5 psi, is like the engine is sending the gas but the air is escaping

yes i read something like that too, but i see that could be a perforated downpipe, i dont really think that is that, i cant lose power with a little hole in the downpipe or something like that, i also read that the bypass valve in the supercharger could be damaged, i think that is more logical, but if you are not loosing power the clogged cat or damaged exhaust could be your case, and yes please, if the new exhaust works for you tell me.

CLOGGED CAT, that whistle was the air escaping through the seal between the exhaust manifold and the downpipe, it was badly colgged, the cat is gone and the car now runs perfect. thanks
