They coudln't Change my Oil Because...!

i was going to just change my oil myself , and the filter cap was real tight, and after a few tries i sed **** it, i went to jiffy lube and he cranked the **** out of my oil filter cap and it woudlnt come off and they sed they wont do it cuz they dont want to break it cuz its only the plastic top... so what the **** now..

go to gm and get an oil filter with the cap (look on crateenginedepot.com to find the part number). once you have that, do what it takes.

mine was tight but not tht bad.

some retard probably cross threaded ur filter cap when they changed ur oil and tightened it down.

Get one of these and then get a breaker bar on your oil cap and get the darn thing off...then hope if it is crossthreaded only the cap is screwed up!

The cap only requires 18 ft/lbs of torque.
The cap has a O-ring and will not leak if it not real tight,O-rings dont work like othr seals which require you to squish them.
Finger tight with a ratchet is probably more than 18 ft/lbs of torque.

Also when installing the cap turn is counter clockwise slowly until it squares up and sit down in the threads properly,then thread it in.

just go nuts on it. i've had tons of filter caps get put on too tight and you just got to use some elbow grease to get it off. and the guys that you took it too must be some panzies if they couldn't get it off. the o-rings if they're not lubricated before they are put on will stick making it harder as well. just use your ratchet with a wrench on the other end for leverage and go nuts.
