For those of you with the hurst short shifter.
Hello,
for those with the hurst short shifter... do you sometimes have problems putting it in reverse?
The reverse lockout works fine for me after some screwing with during install... that isn't my problem.
The problem is..... THE SHIFT BOOT GETS CAUGHT ON THE REVERSE LOCKOUT (because the stick is shorter i guess, therefore creating some slack in the shiftboot), therefore making it hard to get into reverse.
It's not a huge deal, but it just makes me look like an @ss sometimes when i am trying to back out of a spot....sometimes taking up to a minute to find reverse by the time i situate my shift boot right.
i got so mad one day that i tried to put it into reverse... and ripped a hole in the boot a little smaller than a dime.
any advice would help.
thanks in advance

I have a 2007 SS/SC and had trouble with reverse when I first installed it.
I ended up adjusting the cables so that reverse was all the way to the right
and I didn't need to use the lockout... just over and down. However 5th is
a little tricky now, it's about 1/2 way to the right from center. It's not that
big of a deal for me since only drive 2 miles to work and never make
it into 5th gear.

yeah, there is a little tube of blue stuff in the box. that is lock-tite. i don't recall reading that anywhere in the instructions, but it is in there. use it in the set screw, but make sure you don't confuse it with the grease.
