Exclamation Ticking noise during boost

So I have been hearing a ticking noise when I get to about 10-15 psi. Only seems to happen when the car heats up because it was sitting out in 100 degree weather for about 6 hours and it did it but later that night the sound had disappeared once the car had sat and cooled off. Took it to the dealer once already and they replaced the vacuum solenoid for the waste-gate. I have been reading about the rivet in the internal waste-gate and I'm not entirely convinced its the same problem, since it is said to go away once the car warms up and that is when mine starts making the noise....any suggestions?

not spark. I am almost positive the spark isn't the issue. Relatively new engine and turbo...less the 20k on both. I am leaning toward exhaust leak....going to the dealer again soon.

Had a similar ticking problem on my SS/SC and it was a failed cat. There was a semi-recall for this condition for 2006-2007 cars. Most likely its not ur cat but might be worth checking. good luck

Thanks man. Yea the more I drive it the more it sounds like an exhaust leak of some sort....its only under a lot of torque, there in the engine is twisting more when the noise is present...2nd gear its there a lot and then 3rd gear it is quiet to almost no noise.

Hey there 08TCmavrk1181,

I hope that your next visit to your dealership goes well. If I can look into anything further for you, or if you would like for a case to be opened on this issue, please send me a private message with more information (including the last 8 digits of your VIN).

All the best,
Sarah

Well, I have heard of more than just my car having this issue. Not necessarily the same circumstances but definately the same noise. Search the forums and you will find others. If the dealer can't fix it I will be in contact thank you.

Got it back and the noise is still audible. Unsure on what to do next. The dealer wants it back and wants me to show them the noise. Hopefully they will diagnose it this time.

its for sure from the turbo....saw a thread about a small piece of metal in the turbo that rattles under boost. I think that may be it. car seems to be fine though no issues other than the noise
