Timing chain recall?

is there a recall on the 05-06 cobalt ss/sc's timing chain?

someone told me there was....and right before my wreck i heard a wierd noise coming from the engine and my dad said it might be the timing chain

not sure, but....... on the way to a meet a couple of monthes ago...ck engine light came on. I took it to the dealer. Code was for camshaft sensor. they replaced it but said when they put it back together it didn't sound right and ended up replacing the timing chain, chain cover, sensor and nuts, bolts ect...... Mine is an '07 with less than 20,000 miles

can the timing chain reduce power at all?

i know there is a timing chain tentioner TSB somewhere, taming chain tentioner is failing on some 06 and there is a griding noise coming from the engine. as per the shop manager were i go, when this **** happen, its loud.

yea when i push the gas at low rpms like in 4th or 5th gar its loud...but going wot it goes away cuz of the whine

I had a ticking noise comming from the engine, brought it in to the dealer, turns out that my a timing chain bolt had broke and sent metal shards through out my motor. They ended up droping a brand new motor in for me.

The timing chain tensioner works on oil pressure if you're too lazy to change your oil every month you're gonna wear it out real fast. I noticed it happening and caught it and avoided needing a new one. They're only 50 bucks from the dealer but bad tensioner leads to other things breaking. Keep an eye on that oil level.

If theres a recall , you would have got something in the mail . OEM's go off who the car is currently registered too , so it doesnt matter if u you buy the car new or used .
