Timing chain upper guide bolt broke
Hey all,
I'm doing the timing chain in my Daughter's 2004 Saturn Ion with a 2.2 after hearing a rattling noise. (157,000 miles, I figured it was time) Upon removal of the timing cover, I noticed the bottom bolt on the chain guide was loose and the upper bolt was gone. Can the stud be removed with a drill and stud extractor? How hard is this to do?
Thanks,
Jason

There are different extraction methods that I think would work because those bolts aren't installed with much torque in the first place. The main problem I think you would have would be accessibility to the top bolt with the engine in the car.
