Trunk release

Need some help. My trunk release won't work on my key fob or the button in the dash. When I hit the release the lights flash and I here a click under the hood. I checked the fuse and it's still good.

Any ideas?

check the actuator that is in the trunk on the latch itself. the actuator could have gone bad. and also check the connector and you can even put a test light into the wire that is supposed to activate the actuator. if it lights up during the button press, you can assume the actuator is bad

Curl up in your trunk and try to watch the action. Or lack of action.

make sure you have the seats down, or know where the trunk release is first but ya good idea.

Alternatively, you can close the latch with a screwdriver and then hit the button with the trunk still open.

Hello all, was going to make a new thread but figured I would post in this one.

My interior trunk release button stopped working for some reason and I'm thinking its the button itself because the trunk releases with the key fob just fine. Anyone else had this problem and knows a solution.

Check the button to see if it is wired, or became detached.

Check the fuse first.
