I've said it once and I'll say it again, this forum Fricken Rules!!! Home of the only stickers I'll put on my car. If it doesn't sound like it's coming unglued it's fine. If you're really in doubt to take it to a stealership and have them take a look. I can hear mine from under the hood and I took it to an ASE certified mechanic and he told me it was fine. "Blowers are noisy" is the quote.

I have had the same sound since Day 1. The dealer said it is normal due to the clearance of the blower rotors or something. Anyways my cobalt runs a 14.2 so I doubt this sound is causing a problem!

Check for it when first starting the car, then check again after driving for 15-20 minutes. If its gone or much quieter, its normal. If not, take it in to have it checked out. Maybe some have more clack to them than others, but it should be reasonably quiet.

not sure how old all this is but I had some insane noises comin from my SC .. seemed a little weird to me so I took it to the dealer. After examining the pulley's and belts as well as the Sc they determined that they would replace them all under factory warranty, bonus for me. I picked up the car a week later and the mechanic took me aside and told me what the prob was. Apparently The factory didnt oil the Sc therefore at 10k it was completly burnt out. All bearings were fried and the thing was black. Anyways if you have accesive noise coming from your Sc it might be worth your while to get it checked. Was mentioned to me that the SC use a seperate oil then the engine (duh) and they need to have their own internally. This was all old news to me but I guess the factory worker in charge of that dept decided to take a nap. I drive an 06 SS so I wouldnt be suprised to see a few more with this prob.
