Water, passanger floor board.

ok so whenever it rains hard or alot there is a huge puddle of water on my passanger floor board.
i have not had my car for 8 months (unrelated) car is being fixed from a mess of electrical problems tune ect.
and my tuner told me how theres a lot of water on the floor board when it rains. and because of that my harness that goes from the bcm to than thru the floorboard got wet. the blue green twisted wire harness.
he dried the whole harness out and replaced a few connectors. he took the seat out and pulled the carpet back.
but once hes finished with the car he told me i have to get the leak repaired obv so i dont have further problems..
and it obv comes in from the window cowl. and down from the firewall near the kick panel im assuming...

i have read this GM Bulitine about it as seen from post here

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/prob...lovebox-65529/

has anyone else recently had this problem? im planning on taking it to dealer to do the repair.
shouldnt be much should it? read they replace a gasket and use sealant or something.

and before anyone asks the windshield has never been replaced and i DO NOT have a sunroof

yeah. i mainly noticed it was the backseat floor that was wet because my driveway is on an incline. so the water would come in. and than go straight to the rear

Also I am a gm man lol no bashing, But back in the day I had to weld 2 cavaliers my g/f and a friends because the welds in the rear wheel well where **** and would leak water into the trunk everytime it rained, Because the tire was shooting up in that direction and puddles well that is a different story all on its own.

I haven't experienced this, but before i rust proof my car I put a sprinkler underneath it to rinse it for a couple hours...Maybe this could help replicate where its leaking from if its from underneath.

Get the garden hose out and put it in the cowl, you'll find the leak fast. The drains are under the cowl

Did you ever find out where the water was coming from? Mine looks like it's coming from the door, just behind the speaker.

lift up the carpet in the car, there are holes in the floor boards with plugs in them, the plugs could have popped out, I had mine pop out. if it did, clean off old foam, put new foam around and put back in hole. put something heavy on it to hold it down tight till foam is dry. cut off excess foam. could possibly be ur issue

I had this on an older car but not my cobalt. I was told it may have been something with the fire wall but I never did find it. Rather annoying.

This seems to be coming in from the sides along the bottom of the door.

I pulled the carpet up and it was wet right in the middle of the passenger footwell. No evidence of firewall leak or a leak through the passenger door.

I have no idea how the water would get there...

Here's what my floor looks like by the way. It's wet in the middle by where it says up. Dry from the plastic by the firewall forward, dry around the edges and dry from the passenger seat back.

Any ideas?

Did some more researching, the water is coming from the cowl. I popped it off and saw the wiper motor/linkage and the cabin air filter, which was dry.

I think the drains are clogged and its overflowing into the passenger area.

Thanks!

Passenger rear sunroof drain was leaking at the rubber fitting. I took all of them off and blasted compressed air through the lines. Applied sealer and reinstalled everything. My water bottle test passed so hopefully it stays dry in there now.
