Does Amsoil even make a filter for our cars? Their website mentions a Wix part number for the Cobalt.

I will use what came on the car... GM= AC Delco. If I have a FFFFFFFord (I can't even SAY that word!), I'de use Motorcraft etc... Any Chrysler product,, I would not change it. The investment in a filter would be more than the car is worth.

i worked at jiffy lube, the only diffrence in filters is the name, i go with fram for the easy grip removal, weve used penzoil, fram, acdelco, and amsoil if you want the jacked up price, the only diffrence really is if you put a diffrent size on you car, a ford taurus can use a pz-09 or pz-42, filters are filters

AC Delco OEM

I use AC Delco PF457G purchased from my friendly neighborhood SATURN dealer and inside the box is the same OEM Hengst ENERGETIC filter as used when our cars were built by the factory. I've noticed that not all AC Delco PF457G boxes have these. Visually, these filters look very well made and I prefer them to those brands made in Bulgaria or Taiwan.

Made in the U.S.A. Buy American!

Usually Purolator for my Mustang since I can get them for a buck and whatever is cheapest for the Cobalt.

I've heard a lot of people say that. Fram filters are junk (the regular ones anyway) and I would never risk an engine by running one.
