Car still starting up fine with no issues.
as for above issue with your cobalt, I haven't had that many problems with the 3 cobalts I have owned... The SCd 06 never gave me any issues, my red 08 SS just had the rear brake issue like everyone else and that was it, and my blue one decided it wanted to take a couple days off... so I dunno...

Looks like I will be trying the hammer in the morning... It started up this morning in my driveway, but made a very weird noise.... so I turned off the car and tried to restart.... made bad electrical/mechanical noise under car, then wouldn't start.... electrical and startup lights all seem fine, so I"m guessing the starter finally went... or atleast I hope thats all it is... going to dealership in morning...

Sounds like its either the Ignition Starter Switch or the Starter itself. Check the wiring on the start... make sure all the nuts are tight. Might even wanna clean them up and see if that makes a difference. You could try jumping the connection yourself (MAKE SURE THE CAR IS OUT OF GEAR), although its been a while since I've looked at our starter... not sure if that's even a possibility these days. My GTI did the same thing for both. Different car, but very similar in many aspects.

Update: It was the starter after all.... very weird how everything transpired. I am guessing that since the contacts were a lil loose and corroded, that it was hard on the starter over time. After cleaning, I got a couple of good starts, and then the infamouse starter going bad noise began. I was able to drive it in to the dealership and it is being fixed now, under warranty! : )
