WOnt stop misfiring?!
I posted this in the wrong section but please help!
Ok guys i really need ur help on this.
For some reason my car wont stop misfiring. I bought new plugs. Tried gaps from .32 to .40, patched up a major ass rub mark on the intake with quick steel, pulled the intake mani off and checked the gaskets bolted the mani back on tight and made sure there was no leaks. ANd when i am cruising and coming to a stop and start down shifiting my rpms fluctuate from like 800-1100. R they suppose to do this?
What else could it be.?
Oh also i told Vince and he checked my VE tables and he said they r fine.
Help me please. i am about ready to throw my stock stuff back on but i really dont wanna.
Bumpo anyone?

Could be dirty throttle body making it fluctuate mine did that a bit. not as bad as yours though.. if your car was misfiring that bad it would throw a code and ur CEL would light up. and you would hear it misfiring. every misfire would sound like a poping noise out the exhaust.

Yeah i cleaned= the throttle body and blower. and i do get that light every so often. when i let it idle for a while.. but when i drive around for a bit it goes away..
And i know its popping.
And its throwing code P0300
I found this.. maybe its my ignition?
It sounds like you have a misfire. Anytime a misfire is detected by the powertrain control module (PCM) it flashes the check engine light (CEL) on and off. Do not drive it this way because it won't take long to damage the catalytic converter. Have the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) read with a scan tool or "code reader" to see what DTC or DTCs are set. If it's a 4 cylinder, it will have a P0301 set for a cylinder # 1 misfire, a P0302 for a cyl # 2 misfire & so on. If the misfire is random (ocurring in multiple cylinders intermittently) it will have a P0300 set. Once you know which cylinder is misfiring you can check that cyl to see what the cause might be. It could be an ignition coil or spark plug failure. The # 1 cyl is always the one closest to the front of the eng or this car, the one closest to the passenger side fender.
ANd i also read that if the little clayish(Cant think of the word) part on the plug is white that my car is burnig lean causing it to misfire?
Cause on mine they r all white.

What is blippin?
And i have only had the car a few months so never. But i put chevron with techron gas in it..
Should i buy some?
And well from my reading it says that the white part on the plugs should be a yellowish after use.
Been a couple hundred miles and mine r still white and if they still r it says its running lean?

blipping is basically rev matching on your downshifts. quick blips of the throttle to bring your rpms up, so you can shift down to the next lower gear smoothly.
personally i would get a fuel line cleaner and run that for a few tanks and then see if it continues misfiring. and any chance you know how bad the misfires are.

Well guys u can hear the misfire from the exhaust. it really not that bad but u can feel it in the idle. and it only does it after the engine starts to warm up.
And yeah its a random misfire or else it would be a coil. And i dont have the stock injectors i am running interviewatruins 42s. But i am gonna check for vaccum leaks and change the fuel filter, put some fuel cleaner and change the ignition switch today and tomorrow.
WHat type of cleaner should i buy. And i have heard that u buy some spray or use windex and spray around certain places to find a leak. what should i use that wont hurt my car.
Oh and i am gonna clean the MAF also
Bump for some help

Oh i think i found out where.
since i am a 2.2 swapped i didnt have to use the Boost control solenoid to nipple vaccum.. and we attach our boost guages to that nipple.. so that is the one i am suppose to use
ok so i seafoamed it and nothing.. no white smoke.. help the idle problem a lil bit but still misfires a bit.
But the weird thing is i havent got any white smoke.. none at idle or WOT.. WTF?! Car has 46000miles btw
