Angry Wtf??! Gas milage went up using....

Ok get this **** I've been using Shell V-power now for over a month and now my gas milage has gone up.. I use to get about 10mpg in the city and that was with some hard driving sometimes and no not crazy speeding **** either! Thats with 87 Octane from Esso!

Now with Shell **** my car has jumped to almost 12mpg and I've been driving gingerly well over 80% of the time... And if someone tells me that I still have to wait for the computer or something to recognize the different fuel I'm gonna .. And then poop my pants.. At $1.17 per Litre I'd rather take my chances with maybe 89 or hell even go back to 87 cause I have only noticed the gas milage difference..

CORRECTION: Read reply 12 as I see some may be confused.. To put it bluntly I use more gas then I should!

someone is reading the "L/100km" reading and calling it MPG.
in which case, the number going up IS worse mileage

well if he drives at WOT every where he goes then yes, that is possible. i was getting 17mph on the interstate at one point when i was driving at WOT to pass, speed up, change lanes, and entering the interstate. Pretty much used any reason to drive at WOT

OK 10 bucks on this one:

You were experiencing some knock on the 87 octane, and so timing was retarded (ahaha) but now that you've put the higher octane gas in the vehicle, the timing has been reset and you're not knocking anymore, therefore getting more power and less mileage per gallon/liter/small cup/whateverhtehellyou'reusing.

Angry Ok wtf???

My gas usage has now gone up to 11.3Litres per 100k.. I checked my K&N sri, its a little dirty but nothing that should impede gas milage this bad!! Hell if I drive any more like grandma I may as well get a Civic

Anyone have a clue why I'm having gas milage issues? Maybe a dirty fuel filter?? Maybe the 2.4L is starting to show its downside?

Anyone out there on able to come up with any ideas???

I will be taking in the old car to the stealership as soon as I can!!

ACTUALLY!! Moderators please delete this thread as per my request cause I screwed it up to begin with! I have a properly written and understood thread made up...Thanks
