ZZP down pipe broke!

So anyone else have problems with the zzp 3inch down pipe?. Well i went out of town, and what do you know, the down pipe decided to break off at the welds. Where the top half of the flex pipe connects to the header. the welds let lose connecting the flex pipe to the top of the bracket that connects to my header.

So i was basically had to drive around for 15 minutes trying to find a place to fix it at 8pm, so i basically have it shoved back in, hold it up with clothes hangers to keep it flowing through the muffler.

lol..u kno how many products they ship out...just cuz one of the welds on yours failed you call it a poor product...i'd agree that maybe yours was a faulty one but they ship out alot of products....give them a chance to redeem themselves....theres bound to be a few that are faulty

exactly, there aren't many products out there that are 100% fail safe.

ill bet you a steak dinner that your bolts were loose, allowing it to shake around and break the welds.

yea i was thinkin the same think cuz a weld breaking usually means theres alot of flex in the line somehow...but maybe it was just a thin or poor weld....call ZZP an talk to them about it

i've had my zzp header and dp on .. it's a 3" dp with a 2.5" bolt in.. my stuff is fine .. you got unlucky dont bash them when you've had one bad experience...

and you go them through what group buy>? because i wasnt aware zzp allowed anyone else to carry their products...

not to mention i've heard about flex pipe issues on just about EVERY dp thats made for our cars.. and the fact that when i got my zzp i called a saturn dealership to install it and they said you should get some tranny mounts to minimize movement under hard shifts as it seems it's a common problem to break in the flex pipe area

Same thing happened to me a year ago after 1 month with the downpipe on, I called ZZP shipped it back to them, they fixed it and shipped it back to me was less than 3 weeks from the time it broke to the time I got it back, I have since had it on no problems at all, call ZZP and they will take care of you, I was very impressed with the customer service
