Had the same problem when I would park the car with the wheels cranked to the right. Started parking with wheels straight no problems so far. Still filed a complaint.

This is now a recall affecting 1.3 million cars. All Cobalts, Pursuits, G5s, and G4s. I just read it in the Wall Street Journal online.

just throwing this out here but the rear brake problem has 27 times more complaints than the power steering problem.
a total of 127 complaints for the brakes on safecar.gov out of 3642 cobalt ss's affected vs.
1132 complaints out of 905,000 cobalts.

Seriously how is this problem not addressed yet. 27 times more common!

Did some research on the power steering recall. There is no fix yet. Everybody should wait to get their letters from GM before going to get it fixed.

Yeah it seems to be really brand new. I got a letter on the catalytic converter issues and I imagine they'll be sending these out if they haven't already.

the recall for steering is on the elec steering motor itself, i went to get a motor 2 days ago and the parts department said that the ones thay had thay cannot sell, i got to see the recalled one and it is a denso motor that is made in japan. thay said the first notices will go out within the next few weeks

Actually, i talked to the dealer and they said the actual recall is going to happen in June or July.... However i told them i was having the problem and they took my car in immediately to fix it. They don't have all the units ready, so they are only taking cars that have the problem. I guess my dealer is not used to to hearing about those issues because they were shocked i drove it there without power steering....
