I think that would be your sunroof leaking.

I asked my dealer about that recall and they pulled some documentation up on their computer to show me what was done. As far as I could tell they just pull the headliner down and hot glue a small piece of padding by the visor and then put the headliner back up again. If they caused a leak when doing yours, they did something very wrong.

There is a TSB for leaking around the sunroof button. Sounds like when they had you headliner off, they triggered the issue that causes the leak.

Your recall repair has nothing to do with the leak other then being in the same place. Take it back and ask about the leaking sunroof switch TSB.

Technical Service Bulletin. They are specific service instructions about known issues on the cars. All GM cars have a list of them that the technicians are supposed to use to repair certain problems. We (the site) are in the process of making a new section listing them all. Certain popular items are the door trim cup fabric issue, the sunroof trim ring falling off, the leaking sunroof (yours), and the steering column clunk. There are lots more.

Here's the TSB for the sunroof leaking. When the dealer installs the head restraint recall, they shouldn't of done anything with your sunroof but maybe open it.

A TSB is information for the techs to help diagnose what is wrong with a vehicle. TSB's are not free repairs if your car is out of warranty. A recall/campaign is something GM knows has a safety issue and will pay for repairs even if it's out of warranty.

2007 Chevrolet Cobalt

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subject: Headliner Wet at Center Map Light/Sunroof Switch Area (Adjust Sunroof and Apply Lube) #06-08-67-019 - (12/05/2006)

Models: 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt

2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit (Canada Only)

2007 Pontiac G5

2003-2007 Saturn ION

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Condition
Some customers may comment that the headliner is wet or damp in front by the map light/sunroof switch.

Cause
This condition may be caused by the sunroof being out of adjustment in the front. This causes water to get past the seal and wick though the conduit pipe, dripping on the map light /sunroof switch and the headliner.

Correction
Adjust the sunroof following the procedure below.

1. Open the sunshade.
2. Close the sunroof glass.
3. Loosen the adjustment screws.
4. Adjust the front of the sunroof glass flush to 0.5 mm (0.02 in) above the roof panel. Tighten the screws.
5. Adjust the rear of the sunroof glass flush to 0.5 mm (0.02 in) above the roof panel. Tighten the screws.
6. Open the sunroof.

Apply Super Lube® to the sunroof cable where it enters the conduit pipe (as shown in the illustration above).
Return the sunroof and sunshade to the close position.

Ditto.

I am affected by the 07 recall though. Yet to receive a letter. I'll just mention it when I take it back to the dealer for an oil change.
