Turbo Recall for 09 Owners

Just to let everyone know there is a RECALL for 2009 Cobalt SS Turbo. The recall is for the replacement of a bolt and washer to the turbo unit. There was no official release and you must ask for the dealer to look it up for you. Hope this helps.

Lookup 09126 I'm sure this is the one he's referring to; it's for the charge piping based on his description. I haven't heard of any other TSBs/recalls (official or unofficial) beyond this one and it only affects a specific range of VIN#s as some 09s already came with it.

i found out about this recall too...something to do air lines...which im assuming is either turbo or charge piping in some way but i only found out when they ran the vin for my car when i had it in for service bc i work at a gm dealership...however they wouldnt do the recall bc the car isnt under gm factory warrenty anymore...i bought a full bumper to bumper one but it still makes no sense

Is it a recall or just a TSR? If it is a recall and they don't fix it I would assume that would equal bad news bear for the dealership.

A recall has nothing to do with your warranty.

recall most the time will have a mileage/date restriction but being an 09 yours will still fall under it. but a tsb does not

Everyone is correct, it has NOTHING to do with warranty. I had a '99 Ford Ranger in '08 and a recall was issued on something. Even though I wasn't the original owner, it was replaced with no hassle or questions asked.
