I think my catalytic converter died on me tonight

Took the car to the track for the first time tonight. When we first got there it was hotter than Hades anus. Car wasn't to thrilled neither was my friends M62 LD9 Cavy. Our cars are pretty neck and neck. Both trapping about identical speeds. However as the night progressed and got cooler he got quicker. Not me though. Mine kept slowing down.

Then during a pass middle of 3rd gear it just fell on its face. Like bad, I was expecting to see "reduced engine power" come up in the DIC but it never did. No check engine light, gave the engine a visual once over and couldn't find anything out of place. The car developed a hesitation off idle too. I let it sit a while and then made another pass to see if it was just a hiccup. I lost over 4mph in trap speed and 6 tenths ET. Boy was it sluggish as hell.

So I figured maybe MAF, possibly TPS or even the TB. But then on the way home from the track I got on it and happened to glance at the boost gauge. It was above 16psi and I'm on a stock pulley. It doesn't smell bad, but the cat letting loose would definitely cause that and it's lack of power.

Any of you guys have any thoughts?

OK I'll give that a shot tomorrow or Monday. Was also reading it could be a lash adjuster. Hopefully not.

Quick test to see if your cat is plugged, pull the upstream o2 sensor and go drive it. It's gonna be loud but if it seems to pull harder again you have your answer.

I just got finished tearing the valve cover off, everything looks good there. So I put it back together and started it up. I had it running a bit and gave it a couple small revs. I could smell something faintly so I walked around the back and found crap shooting out the exhaust lol. I think it's safe to say it is the cat dying.

The car has a full ZZP exhaust so I'm thinking I might just buy their test pip to put in

I had a problem with my stock cat recently. The car would basically lose power and shut off.I took the down pipe off and it sounded like glass in a bag when I shook it.I ended up knocking it out.I have been
driving it ever since.Other than it is a lot louder, will it damage anything without the cat?
Thanks
