Vacuum tank delete

Hi fellas. Can someone post up a picture on where the vacuum hoses go on the solenoid and intake manifold please. I searched the threads but the pictures do not come up. Thanks

Before or after the delete?

On solinoid, top to lower cp, side to bpv, bottom to intake manifold

No, top, or closest to windsheild as u call it, goes to lower cp, bottom or closest to front of car goes to intake manifold, side one or closest to passenger side of car goes to bpv

I have had this setup for 7-8 years and believe it's correct.

I just cut a piece off one of the lines going to the vacuum tank and reused it for the connection back to the manifold.

What benefit is there to deleting the vacuum tank?

Just curious, I hear it mentioned over on the Regal forums a lot.

The benefit is if something broke you can us this to work around. The other benefit claims were debunked a while ago.

I had the vacuum tank delete for a while and got some occasion/random pre-codes for evap purge system (IIRC). never through a CEL or stored it permanently though.

I hooked the vacuum tank back in the system and have not had any return of the codes. I assume it needs the vacuum stored in there at certain moments when there is not any in the intake manifold for some of the evap purge functions.

the vacuum tank has nothing to do with the evap system. u probably have a bad solenoid. its literally just a solenoid that opens to a line from ur charcoal canister that sucks in tank fumes into the intake. the vacuum tanks simply stores vacuum, as in the intake manifold vacuum draws a vacuum in that tank, and when the bpv solenoid opens, that stored vacuum activates the bpv quicker. that's all it is for.

I will say that I have had 4 eval solenoids go bad and have always had the vacuum tank deleted. Maybe a correlation

you know how I fixed that one? I removed the solenoid and deleted the codes in hp tuners. one less part to fail and cause issues.

I know I know. Is there anything involved with tuning if it's deleted? Because I know when it's disconnected the car has a hard time cold starting. But that may be because i just disconnect the electrical connection and don't vent the vent the tube.

Thats odd, mine never had trouble cold starting with the electrical connector unplugged. Unless the cat warmup cycle calls for more evap air during startup.

It shouldnt matter at all. As long as everything is dont correctly. Ur bpv should go straight to manifold, ur lower cp port needs to be blocked , if u cant on the pipe u have then u just leave it on the solinoid and run a line from the bottom port of the solinoid to the side port so there is no leaks.
