LSJ idler pulley size or part number
So the idler pulley right above the crank pulley on my car sounds like it is being brutally murdered. I've been sitting
searching but can't find any info on it. I know I can't just go grab one at the junkyard due to the LSJ being 6 rib. Hoping one of you guys know what part I need.

Good luck finding info on it. I looked everywhere I knew to and asked on here and never found correct pulley replacement. I was able to snag probably the last new idler pulley assembly in the U.S. I made a thread that went through what it takes to convert the pulley mount to accept the same pulley as is on the tensioner. I can take measurements on the correct pulley if you have some means of finding the pulley by OD/ID. I also wasn't able to find any useful part numbers on the idler pulley.
Currently still using my converted assembly with the smaller tensioner pulley retrofit. Works fine. Keeping my new idler assembly complete as a backup. Let me know if you can use some dimensions.

I found a pulley on Rock Auto which might actually be the right unit but I am not sure. I will measure OD when I get home for the evening. I was looking through every listing they have for tesnioner pulleys and all of them have a 17 mm ID and all of them but the link I posted have a 63.5 mm OD. The pulley that I provided a link for has a 65.4 mm OD so unless they measured/entered it wrong this would make sense to be the idler pulley as it is bigger. Like I said I will check OD when I get home. I may be completely wrong here.

I measured the idler pulley and it's OD is close to 69 mm. I say close because I wasn't sure how to measure with the grooves. I measured the tensioner (smaller) pulley to the outside of the grooves and came up with 64.32mm. Since we know it's supposed to be 63.5 mm I figured the difference of .82 and subtracted that off of my measurement of the idler pulley which to the outside of the grooves measured 69.82 mm. Measured both pulleys the exact same way so data should be good but I hold no responsibilities.

So I have a stock tensioner pulley laying here. I have an oversized one on the car. I think I'm going to try to put this pulley on in place of the messed up one for now. Worst case I get some belt slip in boost. I've found a 70mm dayco unit but it won't be here by the weekend and I honestly don't think this thing has much time left. So much black debris around the motor mount. I really appreciate the help.

Well as my luck would have it, it was not the idler pulley. It was the crank pulley. It separated and was pushed into the timing cover. The good news is my idler pulley is in perfect shape Now I'm waiting on parts. Yay!

Yeah photobucket decided like a week ago that they were going to charge some absurdity like $400 a year to host photos. So I deleted my account. I have to decide on a new photo host and delete the old links lol.

So here is the aftermath. The pulley literally pulled apart with barely any force. I'm absolutely amazed it didn't fly off during the 2000+ mile drive I did
She's back up and running with a new crank pulley. Hopefully no more stupid issues.

It's been rubbing for a while mileage wise. It started as a noise that would come and go, I assumed it was ac compressor clutch was acting up.
I drove from FL to PA the last week of June. I stopped half way on the way up in Charlotte NC to visit friends there. When I arrived at their place it was a constant rubbing noise but it was faint. I popped the hood but couldn't really pin point where it was coming from. I drove the rest of the way to PA and it was louder still. While up in PA it continued to get louder and black debris was forming around the motor mount like yours. So I assumed idler pulley after seeing your thread actually.
Before I did the 950 mile drive home, it was considerably louder than it was in Charlotte, I was a bit worried. So I made it to about 10 miles from the SC/GA border and needed gas. Oh man was it making noise then. BAD. So I called my father to have him ready the trailer in case it let loose. Luckily I made it the remaining 200 miles home. I got very very lucky as we can see it was about to nuke the timing cover and/or come apart.
