Engine breathing supercharged
Hey Guys,
ive been trawling the Internet for days looking for the best solution to vent this engine of mine better then what it is doing now.
Im looking to see what is the best way to go about it for the more high powered supercharged engines. There is a lot of old threads about this so what’s the best idea for 2018?
My idea so far is to block off the hole in the head so the pcv valve isn’t used. Then a An-12 fitting off the blanking plug next to the timing chain guide at the side of the engine as this goes direct to the sump but there isn’t any oil pressure. Which then this goes to a catch tank with the same size fitting on the catch tank. Then another An-12 off the rocker/valve cover to the catch tank also with a 22mm filter off the catch tank.
The bit I’m struggling with most is where to fit the fitting in the rocker cover so it doesn’t look nasty and also fitting something as big as An-12 fitting. It would nice to drill the existing outlet to a reasonable size but 10mm seems to the biggest you can go here before destroying the hole.
Ive also seen people taking out the metal splash gaurds on the inside of the valve covers but not actually a way to fit this back together as once the welds are drilled there is no way to fix. This would be nice as it would make it easier to fit a fitting with a nut on the underside.
If you guys have any ideas or threads I should read then that will be great.
