last night after the muck stickey show alonzo our DD drove my car 145 mph from downtown to byhalia rd (all interstate) which is about 25 miles. At 2 am there wasnt much traffic. But a couple of times he had to slow down to a 100 to tread his way thru slower traffic.

Agreed.

Well guys it looks like no party this weekend. Lindsey's grandmother passed away early this morning so we will be heading back to Texas once again. She wasn't really in bad health but was taken by a heart attack, and it was about 2 months since the death of Lindsey's Grandfather.Love can do some weird stuff.

She literally had a broken heart. Lindsey, my condolences go out to you and your family. I hope yall have a safe trip there and back.

I rode in a ss/tc today. The salesman at bill heard bought the only 1 they had. The launch control and no lift shift are very impressive.

why am I stupid???? Just because you're in a nice car does NOT give you the right to drive it as fast as you can. I don't give a rat's ass who you are, where you are or how late it is. I have no pity on anyone other than the potential obstacle when one of you ******* finally nails something sturdier than the front end of your car.

!st off I said your comment was stupid not you are stupid. 2nd if I wanted to go slow then I would have kept my 2.2 which topped out at 107 mph. 3rd I dont drive 145 every day or nite but if you have never been that fast dont knock it until you do. The ss/sc is set up for those speeds. The tires are rated for it,the 4 wheel disc brakes work great, and if follow the smith system (All Good Kids Like Milk) then you wont wreck.

Silly me, being all law-abiding and concerned about public safety and all of that bullshit. I didn't know I was dealing with a guy who friggin knows everything about driving fast. By all means then just keep on driving your stoner buddies around as fast as you want on public streets in the middle of the night. And seatbelts are for wussies. By the way, don't fall for all of that "don't drink and drive" baloney either, that's just for guys with POS cars... and you've got a Cobalt SS

because such is the unpredictability of life. I don't care how careful you are, you cannot control the rest of the environment. One of these days there will be a deer.... or a broke down vehicle with no lights on....or a pedestrian walking with a gas can.

No I haven't traveled at 145mph, but I have been on the road when some fucktard has almost blown me off the road or ripped off a mirror. Bastards probably never even noticed either.

I would have said "where is a cop when you need one?", but I know where they are: hanging out in Millington and pulling my ass over for stupid ****, whilst Mr "My car is faster than yours" is out for a joy-ride.

HeLLOOOO interesting thread!

Marshall. Shame. 145 mph in a Cobalt....Don't try and argue that the SS/SC is designed to and safe to travel at sustained high speeds above 100mph. You know it's not true, us guys know it's not true, and the majority of this website knows it's not true. It was dangerous and you got called out for it. She's right about you being unable to control the environment. You hit a piece of tire rubber at a buck thirty on the interstate and have a blow out They'll be picking up pieces of the new balt over half a mile.

And dwarf, It is kinda wrong to wish someone to have a front end collision at high speed. That's like me telling you that I hope you burn alive because you answered your cell phone at the gas pump. It's just mean spirited.

.....good one. And what I've found funny all this time is: her screen name is BITCHY, and everyone's shocked by her comment I mean, I thought it harsh too, but...her name is BITCHY, I wouldn't expect anything less

I never said he'd actually HIT the deer. Just there may be one out there. Like Earnhardt Sr said "I didn't mean to wreck him, I just wanted to rattle his cage a little"

Haven't made a final decision yet, once I map it out and see everything I'll decide then. Went year b4 last to Family Values in Nashville...only thing I was impressed by was there was a Jack-in-the-Box right down the street from my hotel....hadn't had an ultimate dbl cheeseburger since I lived in Austin.
