a good friend of mine(now, I worked with him for over a year, didn't know him before then) is out of that local... also believe it or not, we do very little "wiring"... mostly during the outage, and even then, a lot of the times plants will have their in house electricians terminate... we just get the joy of running the conduit and cable tray, hanging the strut, pulling the wire, etc... its not a bad gig if you don't mind heights... I spent the day about 120ft in the air standing on a hand rail feeding wire through a cable tray, now given I was tied off but there was nothing between me and the ground except a railing... and if you was to fall, well you can HOPE the restraint actually works, and if it does... you're still probably going to break a few ribs and bust your nuts(seriously, and not in the good way)
I have several Ingersoll air tools and have had great success with them

really man I don't know anyone at that local other than Amerson, and he is a young ass Journeyman(only been topped out for a year or so)... and your best bet is just to go down and talk to them... you need to act quick... they test in the spring, interview and the summer, and then start a class in the fall
the test isn't that hard, its just basic mechanical, reading, and math(basic algebra) problems...
they don't care if you have a background or not, they tend to want to teach you everything anyway... if they ask WHY you want to be an electrician.. do NOT say because you love the industry, enjoy electrical work, are interested, etc.... tell them "I want to live better and make money"... I have preached that to friends who have went to our hall in the past... they don't believe me and go in with some bull **** answer... i am telling you, ask anyone in any of the locals and they will tell you... give that answer
as far as heights, you'll get used to everything... before long, you won't even think about the situations you put yourself in sometimes... its like riding a bike, driving a manual, etc...
pretty much your 1st day on the job, most journeyman are going to ask you the same question: "You scared of heights"
there are 2 possible answers, but the same out come:
1. you respond "yeah"... they're going to put you in a 120ft. man lift and keep you up there until you're no longer scared, lol
2. you respond "no"... they're going to say "good"... then put you in a 120 ft. man lift to see if you were bull shitting or not

had entirely too close of a call tonight... got to playing around with a Mazdaspeed 3 with Virginia plates... it at least had exhaust but I have no clue what all was done to it, was a pretty quick little car though... while we were in town, we weren't doing anything stupid as traffic was way too thick but we ended up getting out on the highway and got caught at the very last light before its a straight highway with no lights, intersections, etc... so when the light goes green we take off and I put a good bit of distance on him but he just flat out sucked at launching... because from a 50ish roll I jumped out to about a 3/4th a car/maybe a 1 car lead and he held it there... I wasn't wanting to take a chance of getting lit up by a trooper on this road so at about 105(which is still way too damn fast, lol) I backed out... this guy apparently freaks out when I hit my brakes and locks his the f*ck up(i guess he thought I saw a cop)... I mean I didn't slam on the brakes, just hit the brake lights to signal the end of the race and that I was slowing down to a normal pace... But I see his car to start to seem to slide and he comes sliding beside me and couldn't have been more than a half a foot from scraping down the side of my car... thankfully he gathered it and we went on our way... his g/f was in the car with him, I bet she needed new pants, lol...
my friend was in the car with me and I heard him screaming "oh ****, oh ****, oh ****" as I'm trying to hit the shoulder to avoid this car... I never was worried about losing control of mine, just looking to avoid him, lol

oh yeah, i'm getting in on this group buy... seems to be the way to go for BPVs and more boost, thought I would post it up in case other LNF guys are interested:
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...71/index2.html
now if only I can get some off time to actually do the **** to my car, lol...
the way its looking i'm going to have:
2 tires waiting to be mounted(already have those in my living room, lol)
brakes and rotors ready to be installed(will be here Tuesday according to tracking)
a Hahn catback waiting to be hung
and this BPV waiting to be bolted-on...
and probably April before I can actually have an off day to do it, lol... but i'll have more money to spend! as well as a work car to drive
