You know between all the Cobalts you guys know down that way along with Eurasiaman, Josh and me up this way, we could do our own meets without having to get other states involved.
They don't act very interested anyways.
Heck when I owned a Saturn we had meets in Birmingham and up here (alternate) surely we could do something similar?

I'd be down for some meets definitely , I gotta come up there soon hopefully this weekend if I can get out of some work and get my tune redone.

yeah... now Josh, in case it doesn't get answered in the other topic... how do I edit my current tune file? when I start the program, i see how to change it and want to try 60%(3000rpm), but how do I actually write that to the car???

Probably not, we talked about it and I would have to be checked out of the Hotel the following day (the State is only paying for the previous night), all day, while my wife is at her meeting.

Weather dependent of course, I would either want to do the Nashville meet or us Alabama people get a meet together next Saturday March 19th in Birmingham or Huntsville.

Locations: Hooters is always good, local car shows at either location would also be good.

Time: ?

Other ideas?

Friday night will be hard for me as long as i'm working at PCA up in Tn... working 10s I just make the drive back, but on Fridays that puts me home around 6:45ish, and its in the western part of TN., so a drive to Steele, yeah, I'd make it about 9:00 if I got lucky, lol

however, there is a possibility I could get sent to another plant for a job and if I do, its 4/10s, so i'd definitely be able to make a Friday track night

and I've got to turn the LC up to 65%, it was great at 60% in the 70+ degree weather today, but tonight I had a few runs in 50 degree weather, it bogged pretty good... I still beat a convertible LT1 Z28 by bus lengths from a dig, but it still bogged too much for my taste... going to bump it up tomorrow, while i'm changing the oil and filter

oh yeah I need to rant about something, and maybe Jskip27 knows this guy... there is this red SRT-4 here with some powder coated black wheels... from what I hear its a stage-II with bolt-ons car... i've been trying to run him for a while, the night my syncro took a dump, he and I had a chance to race, he wouldn't run me straight up, we got on a LONG ASS bridge here that is multiple lanes(Jskip27 is familiar with it) and he still wouldn't run me, he backs off gets a ricer run up and when he is about 3 cars behind me at WOT, I too go WOT and honestly stopped his pull, have no doubt my car was faster... anyway, some mutual friends of ours(I don't know the guy) is talking to him one day and they mention my car... he tells them "yeah, I pulled on him pretty good across Patton Island"... when our mutual friend told me that a couple of weeks ago, I laughed and told him to get a race set up between us.... well shortly after that, I run into him heading out toward the middle of nowhere and get beside him... the guy chicken ***** and turns into a CLOSED gas station to avoid a light going red up ahead... tonight, I get an opportunity to run him on the same stretch of bridge he "pulled on me pretty good" and once he recognized me pacing beside him, he decided to cross 3 lanes and make a sudden turn onto TVA reservation....

so Jskip if you know this guy, please, tell him to run me....... because he hangs out with the same folks I do, and i'll most definitely call his bluff

also I ran into a Crossfire SRT-6 tonight and we never could get a clean run in, but it sounded modded and from what I could tell, was going to be a damn good race... maybe i'll run into him at a later date, right now I am 0-1 against them in my racing "career"... just wasn't in this car, was in my old modded GTP and got absolutely trashed by a modded blue one with a Turkish driver... and I felt like ****, until I saw him walk all over a then new brand new LS2 Corvette....very badly... and it wouldn't have mattered, if I were in this car, i'd STILL be 0-1 against them, lol

those are some sick little cars when modded, just ultra rare... and most people who have them: don't mod them

but they'll run 11s with bolt-ons, a tune, and a pulley swap... and that isn't a joke

also Josh, get you a Forge Motorsport BPV, I recommend it for ANYONE with a tuned LNF... my car runs so much smoother now, is holding more boost and gained about a lb... with this cool as weather it had gotten down to around 20-21psi, its now holding around 22-23psi... may be the ass dyno but it feels faster as well, just in how it helped the attitude of the turbo, it's worth my money... I'm pretty sure Gdubs is going to get another group buy going soon but if not, here is the BPV from their site that fits our car, though are car isn't listed in the model it applies to:

http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/con...oduct=FMDVK04S

on the site its $165 + shipping(probably would be high, its coming from the UK).. i'm not allowed to say what we paid in the group buy since they aren't a supporting vender but its A LOT lower than $165... more than $115 less than $130

so there is my wall of text for the month, and i'm glad to be back in Bama... people can talk all the **** they want about it, I have no desire to hang my hat anywhere else, and i've been A LOT of places

Those Crossfire SRT-6's are rare and when modded pretty fast.

As far as dragstrip, I don't mind going if its at night if its local, the reason being is its a 1-2 hr drive for us to get to Steele or you guys to come up here. By the time the strip closes and we drive it will be early in the morning and State Police out in full force. Put that together with most of us driving modded cars and its like a instant pull over driving early in the morning.

Now if its a day time or early evening drag strip meet, I'm down.

Sunday at Steele is when everybody goes for the most part anyway... the guy I know with the G8 GT in Pelham told me to let him know when we go, he is pretty much down any Sunday and he is a cool guy, mid-30s but is easy to get along with... he is also interested in our dyno day

now I can make one of those on Sunday pretty much any weekend, the last one I had too much **** to do because I knew I wouldn't be in town for a week or so

its ultra rare for me to work on Sundays when not in an outage... right now, a Saturday is probably not even happening

if not lets drive to Nashville, I'm down for that...

my friend and I broke out the G-Tech Pro today and while i'm not one to base my car's performance off of it, it is a useful tool in comparing your own vehicle, to see if there is actually improvement

my previous best 0-60 was 5.1 with it, though I average 5.3 or so... today very 1st pull with the 65%(3200rpm) LC setting I pulled a 4.7... all i'm saying is if i'm pulling a sub 5 second 0-60 on street tires, i'm going to be upset if I run slower than a 12.90 through the 1/4

I assume bog like ****...

in theory it sounded like the ideal spot, I put it at 3000 1st... and like I said in warm weather, it was decent... but 3200 seems to be the ideal spot, because last night when the temps went down to the high 50s, I was bogging at 3000...

the thing with launch control is its not really dumping the clutch like a traditional launch... if I manually launched the car at 3200, it'd be a spin fest and i'd look like a damn idiot, lol.... but with the electronic assist, it works best for my driving... and I am now not worried about a race from a dig, because its going to grab and launch me every time...

of course I also have the boost cut to 10psi in 1st... I HIGHLY recommend that... you don't need 20+ psi in 1st and with the cut you can actually manage 1st gear, have the gradual build to 23psi in 2nd and once again, sounds like it would hamper performance but actually improved it substantially... who cares if you got 330+whp if its not getting to the ground

My boost in 1st is either 5 or 7 psi, I don't remember now.

I have LC set to 65% right now but I haven't even tried it out.
Since the BNR GT2871 starts spooling 300-500 rpms later then the factory K04, I got to figure it out, plus I'm rolling on 245's.

I been busy this weekend, went and saw Battle for LA, went to a car show and today I changed the oil/filter in the SS, painted the door for the football room black.

i'm actually thinking about raising my boost back up to 15psi in though, now it takes me entirely too long to get through 1st, lol... this thing called traction is new to me, lol

in fact I just shot a video and it just seems SLOW through 1st... don't get me wrong, once I hit 2nd its on, lol:
