Nice cars, but by the time you add in extra insurance, gas and car payment, that monthly bill to own that thing just went waaay up.

and that is why you buy used, the only reason I didnt, I didn't want to wait a year or two for a lot of turbo Cobalts to start hitting the market

but something like a Camaro or Mustang, way too many used ones to buy new, you can practically choose your car even buying used

Good news, I may have found another Summit AWD 5 spd, in about the same condition of mine. ONly difference mine is a 96 and this is a 95.

Adam, you will love the color of the new one, maroon with a gray bottom

Just waiting for the guy to get back to me to work out the details. Then I'll have to pick it up, swap over the engine, trans, doa battery relocate, run all the W/A set up again and rewire the gauges inside. (that in itself is going to be some work).

A guy on ARS.net offered to buy the current shell if I take the engine out (he emailed me). He says he was jealous of me when he saw the van at the Clutch meet and has been looking for a AWD 5spd Summit forever.
He said his car was the yellow Toyota Supra at the Clutch Spec meet.

Imagine that, a Supra owner jealous of my Van

Cross your fingers and hope this deal goes through by the end of tommorow for the van. Wait till I tell you guys where I had to go to get it.

One word, Torque Wrench.

Also don't cheap out on main/rod bearings, oil pump, water pump or timing belt.

If you want to move to Athens, I'll rebuild it for you in a day

I still have a J&S Ultrasafeguard sitting around, it was originally designed for Honda distributor applications to detect knock and retard timing, but it works on other distributor engines also.

Here we go again:

Ok, so we are going to try to do this yet again....
We will be using the Birmingham Race Course at 1000 John Rogers Drive, Birmingham, Al. 35210. We will be using section "B" of the parking lot for our drifting. We will have spectators in the lot below that and tech across from that. Drivers will pay 75.00 each to drift. Spectators are 10.00 each regardless of age and ride alongs will be an extra 5.00 dollars. Must be 16 years old to go ride along.
Driver requirements:
DOT approved helmet
All lugs and studs on wheels
Seat belts
No cracks in drivers view of windshield (If you have a windshield)
No loose objects in the vehicle
Battery tied down
No serious leaks coming from the vehicle
Good brakes ( no crazy squeeling noises)
If you choose to tandem you must have a fire suit and legit roll cage installed.
All vehicles must pass tech inspection. No refunds if your missing something and you cannot drive. It is up to you to be responsible enough to have your vehicle prepared to drift.
This event will be Pre-Registration ONLY. You must pay before you come out to drift. All payments can be sent to Devildogdozier@hotmail.com Please include your full name, vehicle, address, and a good phone number in case there is a need to reschedule. Refunds will be issued if the drift day does not go on for some reason.
Volunteers post up what you are willing to do and how long you can come out for. We need tech inspectors, event setup and clean up, cone runners, start and finish line.

Gates open at 7:30
Tech Inspection at 8:30
Driver Meeting at 9:30
10:00 Let the fun begin

To be honest I don't feel like driving 3 hrs 1 way this weekend to Montegomery.

If you all go to it, make sure to get some pictures.

Pics of your sister don't count Josh But pictures of her "friends" do

If you come up to the Hooters one, I will probably have you stop in Athens and pick me up.
I'm going to paint my Valve cover this weekend and install the new steering wheel.

So the motor has 130k on rebuild, timing belt should be replaced every 100k on a Honda? If so, then the idler pulley probably is recommended to be replaced also.
Yes I would replace the oil pump for sure (life blood of your engine man) with a factory oil pump if you can, same with water pump if you have the extra money.

The only reason I say this is you have at least 100k since the rebuild (if he was honest with you). I would take the time to replace important parts, especially the oil pump and timing belt/idler pulley.

Nice another balt in North Alabama. There are actually more supercharged balts in our little circle, then LNF's currently.

You need to come to the next meet in post #4037 Drift Meet in Birmingham.

I live in Athens by the way.

I bought the car with a couple mods, it has an AEM intake and a torque brace. Other than that it's stock. The P.O painted the wheels grey and it's starting to flake in spots, would like to paint them myself if I knew I wouldn't screw it up.. HHRSSouth, I'm from Madison to be specific. Went to IA in Atlanta about a month ago and when I got back I started looking for something a little sporty, my previous vehicle was an '03 Jeep Liberty with a 5spd.

The only pic I have of it saved on my phone:
