yeah I saw that... everyone is pissed that were are only going from 260 to 275hp, but honestly.... the Cobalts will probably dyno that at the wheels with the kit, the HHRs do for example... besides, with the learn down feature being removed, with your basic bolt-ons(downpipe, catback, cai), it'll still hit in the 285-295whp range, that is all I want... any more than that and it useless on street tires anyway.. GM has a tendency to "underrate" cars so that owners of higher end cars stay happy... with the Camaro coming out, GM couldn't have a little 4-cylinder cobalt knocking on the V6 Camaros boots at 290hp with a stage upgrade, now we all know the turbo SS Cobalt would walk all over a V6 Camaro but they don't want that "300hp" mark touched out of a base/low-end car, so I honestly think that is why we got the low rating... its the EXACT same hardware the HHR SS got, and the tune is just as aggressive, so I expect the numbers to be roughly the same(270-275whp)
kind of like the LS1 Camaros were always "rated" at 310hp to the Corvettes 350hp, but on the dyno, the Camaro's actually dynoed higher(due to less drivetrain loss)
i'm going to wait and see a dyno from one before I invest in it... if I am right in my specualtion, i'll get it
if not, **** it, i'm buying a 2nd ECM and getting a real tune, I would buy it and get a real tune, but really, that is an expensive route for something I will never need... I am never going to take this car over 300whp, so I don't necessarily need those 3-bar sensors, I am just wanting the learn down feature removed, a little more boost, and a more aggressive tune... and i'd like to completely safeguard the warranty and just use GMPP parts, but if its some 10whp gain, well, i'll take my chances with a 2nd ECM for roughly the same money($250 for a spare ECM, $300-500 for a tune) compared to around $700 for this kit

either way, I giving this until the middle of July, if its still in the "few weeks away" stage as its been since.....oh October
