I know a lot of guys from HSVracing are going, so it'll probably be pretty long of a line... what time is the meet?

hey 09Cobalt, you don't know who has the Navy Blue Trailblazer SS with a skull on the trailer hitch do you? He had a 52 tag on his as well, we tied up today... it's modded, but don't know what all he has done to it... from a 40 to about 105-110ish I had about a car length on him... from about 20-100 we were door to door(I spun, he jumped me, I ran him down)... talked to him at a light and he was shocked I ran him like that, was expecting to put car lengths on me, lol... he was like "but I should have known it was fast, you don't have the ricer wing"

Heh, tomorrow is suppose to be low 40's and Thursday mid 40's, I plan on bolting my down pipe on one of those. I couldn't imagine not having the daylight hours to put stuff on right now, to damn cold once the sun goes down.

08INBAMA is your car turbo model if so i dont think they make it for that model. you might call megan racing and see. I got mine for $288.00 shipped, which is the cheapest i have found.

Well if you need some help putting it on let me know, warm day preferred but not necessary, I got some insulated cover alls.

Got my SSR center caps back from "its not paint" powder coating (in Huntsville) yesterday, overall there paint quality looks great and it only took them 1 day to do it. I had them powder coated gloss black to match my lug nuts, they were polished aluminum but it didn't flow well with the rims and rest of the car.

I'm going to get my exhaust from Mandrel Exhaust Systems... the only kicker is, they send you the pieces, has to be welded together.... but I got a price on that from the guy who does my exhaust work and he's only going to charge me $75... well, I can get the exhaust for $440 shipped, so i'll have about $500 in it, the closest vendor is like $560 on their exhaust, minus shipping, and then I STILL have to get it hung(which would run around $30 alone)... that'd be around $650 at the cheapest

I don't understand why companies mark exhaust up so much, if Megan and Mandrel can put out exhaust for $350-400(while still making money), why can't everyone? its ******* 3" pipe with some bends, a flange, a resonator, and a muffler:

flanges aren't high, resonators aren't high, mufflers aren't high... is $150 worth of tubing and materials and some bends really worth $600? hell no, that is a ridiculous markup... if a person had the means of doing their own bends they could easily make a full catback for less than $200, of course you need a bender which is expensive, but you can't tell me Corsa and others don't sell enough exhaust systems to cover the cost of a bender or two... and honestly, the Cobalt's catbacks are CHEAPER than most, catbacks for Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, GTOs, etc. COMMONLY run $1100-1200, which is crazy

just like turbos, most of the cost associated with turbos is in the piping... and its a ridiculous mark up, no way kits should cost $3-4000.. I mean wastegates, the actual turbos, blow off valves, you can have all that for a little over $1000... its why most of the import guys build their own turbo setups, because people have started selling the tubing alone for A LOT cheaper than kits made by vendors and you can build a home build for less than half of the going rate of a kit and still make as much whp

part markup pisses me off, if I ever win the lottery i'm making my own exhaust company... lol

I ordered some tires but don't have them on yet, so any "fun" I have is going to have to be from 50, lol.. and I will bet i have the baldest tires at the meet

I also have 2 peps riding with me. There was another guy from Bama going in the Nashville thread. Lets hope the rain chance only stays at 40%, to bad we aren't getting Nashville's Friday weather for Saturday.

About ready to go out and strap the new DP on in another 30 min to 1 hr.

I use to set up and run CNC/manual bending machines. Its really easy to break a 3" pipe while mandrel bending it, especially SS, its brittle. Also the CNC machines and dyes to run them are mad expensive. At one point I was going to try and buy 2-3 CNC benders that could run various sizes up to 3" and it would have taken me the rest of my life to pay those bitches off working out of a little shop on my own, even with small contracts from someone like John Deere, plus the power bill every month.

There are just regular Hydraulic benders but you can't get any real production out of them.

I bet most of those Vendors you mentioned contract there work out to someone else, heck maybe the same company, then mark them up. I would imagine the people that actually do it in house and sell are by far cheaper.

Well you get the idea.
