So, I dropped my car off this morning at 07:00 and saw them take it around back within 5 minutes... I made an appointment over a week ago for this GMS1 upgrade/install. Well, I decide to call them and they're still working on it, but don't have an official status of where they are in the process. The service guy told me he'd call me back in 15 minutes. I'm starting to get a little nervous/worried here. I'm hoping they don't fark something up and it turns into something like what 08inBama went through... *skeptical*

Ok, supposedly everything is done and good to go... guess I'll find out this afternoon when I get off work. I love how the service department keeps you up to date on the work they're doing on your vehicle. Makes you wonder how long the car would have sat on the lot before they called me, letting me know it's done

*crosses fingers*

Edit: Oh yea, the service guy said he'll have to calculate my total. This install is suppose to be rated for 2 work hours, correct? I wouldn't be surprised if they try to dick me on this though.

You gotta stay on top of the stealership, or they will take there sweet time. H

How many hours are they charging you for install?

Don't know yet. I'm still at work. Debating on whether to wait till 4 or call my g/f who gets off work in 10 minutes to come and pick me up and take me to the car.

One of you guys should pick this up, when I sold it to Melvin it was still like brand new. When I sold it to him and it might have had around 3k miles tops on it. I don't drive my HHR SS in the rain, or really much at all, I only have 6600 miles on my HHR SS currently and I bought it last year.

The ZZP catless down pipe is about a 20-25whp with tune. I never threw any codes with it (but I have with my spun metal cat, go figure).

The down pipe is full stainless steel construction and fit perfect. Only reason I sold it was to buy a ZZP spun metal cat (quieter), the wife was getting sick of how loud the catless down pipe was on the HHR SS when she drove.
If your buying this for an automatic make sure you check with ZZP Performance to see if it fits first.

how much did they end up charging you for the install?

and I mean honestly guys, only me, the other person from here, and maybe 4 or 5 other people here have had transmission issues... all of them are syncros, which a dealer won't really give you **** over one going bad, because they do it in EVERY car... not just performance cars... it can be from abuse, it can be from the fact some transmissions just have bad syncros... a lot of the time, they won't go bad again...

I do know one thing, i'm not near as prone to be pulling a downshift to 2nd as I used to be for a pull, lol... I mean I know how to match rev and everything, but i'm still not taking any chances... this car gets babied much more now.. I wouldn't say I was rough on it before, but even less now....

the good news is I haven't heard of anyone actually losing a gear, cracking a housing, etc... I mean I grenaded mine, but it was because of the shitty rebuild NOT the transmission, lol... well, ZZP destroyed theirs........with 500whp

the more I drive my car, the more I remember why I bought it in the 1st place... so I may end up hanging on to it for another year or so...

more on this insurance thing:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/loun...crooks-226530/

personally, I tried to get online to check my account and it said "this account can not be accessed at this time, call your agent for more information"... 1st time that has ever happened...

and Josh this is done by VIN at the main office, not through your local agent... so expect to get reamed, looks like for most people its around $100/month

Its only a 30 minute change out to switch between factory and aftermarket, seems like a very good price to pay for an extra 20-25whp
