i'm about to start doing some cosmetic/technology updates as well

going to get a new set of projector headlights from Depo(warning guys, never buy the ebay ones, they are the suck, should have went Depo the 1st time), going to get the billet fuse cover with the chevy bow tie, my coolant resevoir, brake fluid cap, oil cap, etc. in billet from MRZ... going to get the ZZPerformance coil cover from ZZP, and get an in-dash navigation w/ blue tooth to replace the stock cd player... really all I want is blue tooth, the '09s got it, we didn't with the '08s... plus, a form of navigation would be nice as well, besides the onstar crap

yeah Gm dropped the ball on that one for us... and we can't even change out our deck for yours because of some **** with ******* onstar

oh well... gives me a reason to get a nice Navi/DVD deck instead.... I figure the deck, headlights, and all the underhood dress up **** can be done for a grand... and your damn right i'm going to jailbreak the deck for DVD playback with the car in gear, lol... and who am I kidding, even if I had blu tooth, i'd probably still be looking to upgrade... I think i'm done with performance... now i'm going to make the car nicer than GM did... starting with that... then i'm going to put in a smoother shifter(TWM), get a better looking shift boot/e-brake boot from redline, and try to find someone to make some better floor mats

not really looking for a show car by any means but do want it to look a little nicer on the inside

Just give me a heads up on that Dyno. I got to get with the Mother-n-Law before heading down there for a place to stay. I got my Cry02 hooked up and would like to see if it actually makes a difference in hp gains. I know it works well on the strip keeping the airflow cool.

hey Josh, last time I talked to you on the phone you mentioned a speed shop near you that was making a direct bolt-in turbo for our cars... what is the name of that place(or website if they have one) and any more info on it?

Bnr supercars they have 2 stages k04 with a gt2868 i think and the other is a k04 with a gt2871 with upgraded wg but have to run a bov. There's a thread on here talking about it.https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/08-1...4-gt28-226844/

yeah... i'm thinking about dropping the money on it... I know, I know, i said no more performance, lol

but if his kit was around $1200, i'd throw it, an intercooler, and a spec clutch in for $2500 or so... planning on getting a kick ass tax return, so should have some expendable income... I always spend that money every year and so this year i'm going to probably put it all in the car, planning on getting back $3500-4000

my dad is wanting me to throw a larger turbo on it, lol.... he rode in it as is and was blown away by it... he honestly didn't think it'd be as quick as it is... my brother and I had told him it was pretty quick, but I don't think he really bought into it... he then said "you need to throw a bigger turbo on it, it'd be nasty".... that spurned up my interest again, when dad says do something, its pretty solid advice, lol

the ZZP kit is nice but its just overkill, i'm not looking for 450whp... i'd be MORE than happy with 400whp

08 why not look into a nice 35r or equivalent and external gate...then equal length Mani and tune for it...would put you easily to 400whp and not be putting extensive strain or stress...also it would probably be significantly more reliable...whenever I can fall into disposable income I'm getting a 35r or 40r and going from there....

I mean I have no idea about your situation...but this seems smarter and leaves even more room for improvement If you desire..plus a good a/r on the 35r would mean a lot more flow at lower psi meaning loooow spool time

also those upgrades appear to be 350-400whp turbos...you don't really want to be toying with the top of its efficiency range IMO...but its easy for me to build your car over the internet...lol

If you get the BNR stage 1 it is a full bolt on upgrade nothing needed but retune, if you get the BNR stage 2 you will need a UICP with BOV and retune. If you do ANY other turbo or upgrade kit you are looking at replacing a lot more.

My thinking is this, BNR stage 1 with the new ZZP LNF camshafts being released this spring. ZZP has said its a bolt in 20 whp (already tested on there car) and will have competetive pricing as all the rest of there stuff is.

Also the camshaft swap is about a 2 hr job, so you could do the turbo now and the camshaft later.

So figure 350+ whp for the BNR stage 1 turbo plus 20 whp for ZZP camshafts and your retune. If you wanted even more power, you could probably even do Trifecta + HPT tune.

My problem with the BNR stage 2 is how far up is full boost moved in the power band? I personally don't want a 4k + rpm full boost, thats not very fun on the street.

I'm going to go with the BNR stage 1 + ZZP camsahfts.

yea what he said...and I would be careful with cams...the lsj cars had problems running cams without solid lifters...just a heads up...but whatever option you choose will be nice...also look up 1badblueberry he has a swapped Turbo that I think was pretty basic and it wasn't bnr...
