Somebody was nice enough to call us and let us know before I got there and blew the place up for their douchebaggery, ****-assed stunt that they pulled.

What'll really chap your ass is if you look at weather.com for the temps in rockingham this month so far...
It was 19 degrees last monday! They've had freezing temps this year, and should have prevented it in the first place.

They're full of **** Redline, nothing froze and broke. They just didn't think they'd make enough money to justify opening up. That's fine, they'll be out of business soon enough. Between Fayetteville, Darlington and Zmax, they don't need to worry about us finding somewhere else to go and they can do whatever they want every weekend. Thanks for calling Photo and saving us a wasted trip.

Sure thing jekyll, I'm glad you didn't drive any further than you had.
I sent this e-mail and hope you support it, as well as find the need to contact them yourselves. Their e-mail address is info@rockinghamdragway.com
Management of Rockingham Dragway,
This past Saturday, December the 13th, I and others came to your dragway to run our cars, but instead were turned away. Many of us arrived before and as the gates were supposed to be opened and instead found that the strip had been closed with no forewarning. The explanation of why the strip was closed was that a pipe had frozen and busted, therefore justifying the inoperable state. While I understand that you reserve the right to change the online schedule without notice, I as well as others still find grievances against your business.
First, many of us drove a fair distance to get to your dragstrip. We had coordinated between many car forums online and expected a turn out of thirty or more people from our groups alone. I personally wasted 3 hours of time and gas and others coming from other parts of the state including Charlotte and further lost even more. I also saw multiple people with cars on trailers who probably invested even more to reach Rockingham. We all were expecting a reliable business which would take precautions to insure its operation but instead found one which hadn’t and were unwilling to try to remedy the problem the day of.
While it is winter and frozen pipes can occur, I found it peculiar upon looking at Rockingham’s weather history this month and finding that there had been subfreezing temperatures throughout December 2nd through the 8th. I also heard today that last year the same excuse was given that pipes were frozen, but instead the track had simply not been prepped because not enough people were believed to show up to make it cost effective. I hope this was not the case but if it was, why post at all that there would be a test and tune?
We were invited back next weekend by a gentleman driving a green Jeep who apparently works there. I personally am declining, and the others who came to your track Saturday I doubt will try again either. This man also said that your website was being updated for the cancellation, as of 6 PM today it hasn’t. In addition to this Saturday, the last time I was at your track in November you had problems with the lights and time board which delayed/ disrupted the races. I will not be returning to your drag strip nor will I encourage others to go until I hear that the quality of service and dependability has improved.
Regards,
Russell Buchanan
