And, I'm out. Just wanted to say it. I sold my balt and bough a RX-8 r3 so I probably wont be the guy with the Mazda hanging out at the Cobalt meet lol.
Why would you buy a slower car that doesn't have a large aftermarket background?
That's a matter of opinion. The car has a global aftermarket (It was in the US, Japan, obviously, Turkey, France, etc. etc.). So no iffy suspension choices and etc. The point is I'm not going to bash Cobalts. I loved my Cobalt and my Cobalt was clean as hell. There wasn't 1 run of the mill piece on my car, g85 1 owner no claims and all. Heck I even had that baller ass $700 Corsa Touring exhaust (Surely you've seen my youtube channel). But any way you cut it, the rx-8 r3 is from a different cloth. I did it because it's a much nicer car, better looking, FR, and it's handles like a ****. I'm 28, I've had 22 cars counting this one and this is by far, the best sports car I have owned. I'm not saying that about a regular rx-8, but the r3 is beast. There are only 132 in the states for 2011, but if you get a chance to, drive one, somewhere there lots and lots of curves.
So in the end it's just preference James. And I prefer circuit tracks to drag strips, and should I decide to go to 350~or more hp, I would rather have it in a car of this class.
