It's all cool. I figured that's what you were doing. And if you are ever curious why ALL cars have less TQ than HP after 5,250 rpm (which ALL cars magically make less TQ than HP after that rpm) it's because of the equation used to calculate HP. Engines only produce TQ, and HP is a calculation of TQ by rpm.

The equation is: Horsepower = (Torque x RPM) / 5,250

So when the RPM is at 5,250 HP and TQ must be the same. Before then TQ must be greater than HP, and Afterwards HP must be greater than TQ.

Just a wee bit of false knock that appeared on the log. It wouldn't go away no matter what the timing was, and it wasn't really knocking there either. But the ECM pulled the timing regardless. These LNFs show a lot of false knock for some reason, but you have to make sure it's false. His car did have one little bit of real knock a couple times at almost exactly 4,000 rpms.

Since he has the MAF sensor located near the airfilter in the fender well we will do a little bit of MAF tuning soon to clear that up. Overall I think his car did great. It sure didn't make 320-340wtq, but I wasn't expecting a miracle in 115* heat either. I was experiencing IAT1 temps of 163*, which is only about 70* hotter air at the air filter than when we tune in the winter time.

yep I knew about the equation and the drop in tq vs hp. 163 iat1!?! Holy **** what was it after the intercoolr??

I've seen that the false knock may be caused by how loud the fuel system is in the lnf. Wish hptuners had a soloution to numb the sensors a bit

That 163 has to be post turbo and if that is post intercooler it seems the stock cooler is not that efficient.

I think Chris and I would be more of a contest. I have a feeling that since Nick is running that much timing now he will destroy us both. If he was on his old 12-14* tune, with me running E-85 and my Pacesetter, I would beat him.
