BS of the day yesterday:
Went to change my oil pan and got to the shop at about 12:15. Found out they didnt have all the tools I need so I needed to go back to my house pick them up and go back to the shop. (The shop is not an automotive shop, but they have a lift inside in the AC ) So I start by pulling off the charge pipe, unbolt 15 oil pan bolts, 1 ac bolt, and 1 intercooler pump bolt.
I double check I am not missing anything and start to pry from the driver side since there is almost no roof to pry the passanger side. I get no where basically. So I grab the rubber mallet and break the pan to break it loose, nothing after more prying. I try the pry spot on the passanger side and bust my knuckles. So I am now looking for some sort of hidden bolt or something, cant see any place. So I post on the tech forums and wait.. I pry again and again and even had me and a friend on the other side prying at once and still nothing is budging.
So I keep beating it with the hammer and finally was able to hook on a pry spot on the passanger side and put some muscle into it and as I am doing that I see a tiny gap where it is finally starting to break apart from the block, then the pry bar slips and I bust my knuckle... Did a final pry and got it off..
I scrapped the block clean, RTV'd the new pan, and bolted it up and finally finished that part and time on the clock....... 6:15. Everything with my damn car takes 15 times longer than I think!
Almost ready for some boost all I need are some new turbo to header bolts. I found out yesterday that one of them was missing so I only had 3 bolts holding my turbo on.. So I am getting longer ones and putting a lock washer on them. After work today I am going to finish it up!
DAMN! Well looks like I will be the fastest one now... No competition. *flame suit on*
But seriously hope you get everything straight. You are a good man for helping your family out by sacrificing a hobby.
When is it? I am too lazy to go search.. haha
