Edit:

He just told me he was cruising with cruise control at 65 all of a sudden CEL flashed, pegged 10:1 (max for AEM) then smoke.... Doesnt add up to a blown motor.

That sux trav :/

On a side note,my cooling fan quit working.Pulled the harness up for it and it lost ground somehow.Traced the wires all the way to the ecu and they looked fine.Looked at all my other wiring and the only thing fishy was my bank 1 sensor 1 o2.I had to extend it a while ago and I guess I left it sitting on the Tstat housing and one of the signal wires was grounded out.Re wired it and loomed it up and ziptied it,and the fan works lol.Fkn computers are weird.

What the 10:1? Lost compression, excess gas not burned or, hopefully, the spark plug is done for and allowed unburnt fuel to flow.

What was the code? Flashing CEL indicates catalyst damaging misfire, narrows it down to fuel and spark without knowing the code and going off the provided info it sounds like either the plug/coil pack/injector went full retard. Obvious diagnosis is obvious

Thanks all for the help, The car is in Patterson Cali right now where it was towed and I had to get back to Phx.... so all I know is what the dealer service manager is telling me. He is stating piston 4 lost compression and needs to be replaced and cost is 5k... I myself believe that they have no clue about anything and just want to replace the motor.. hence the reason they are denying warranty service is cai ( I realize other mods void it anyway, but picking CAI just screams retard imo ) . I dont know what coded at this point until I can speak to service guy again. Just cel flashed , AEM pegged at around 10:1 or so, turned car off, restarted no Cel but sounded bad, would idle for bit then died, if gas pressed white smoke

Yeah sounds a little fishy to lose compression on cyl 4 if you're just cruising... especially to blame it on your intake
When I lost compression on cyl 4 my car idled and drove fine until i got higher in the RPM's. I'd be thinking more along the lines of spark plug pooped itself.
Maybe ask him what the compression numbers were and a picture of your piston to prove something's wrong with it?

Current plan is to hire shipping company and ship it back to phoenix then repair it here..... SOOO who is down for possible rebuild

I was going to say ask for the compression numbers. Other than plug or coil pack shitting out it seems weird. You said you didnt hear knock or anything... Just doesnt add up. I could maybe see the damage happened WOT and was holding on until then but you stated to me your AFR was 11.3 (which we did for safety) so that doesnt add up either.

yea.. not fun expirence...... I wasnt WoT, cruising at 65-70 5th gear , went uphill , just got off I-5 in Cali.. lost some speed, downshifted to 4th , Cel popped on and flashed , WB pegged 10:3 or so and stayed until I pulled over, then car died. restarted , slight rev, white smoke. turned off and stayed off. I didnt hear knock, but music was up and GF and I were talking , plus her dog in back seat so who knows, maybe it did and I just missed it. ran 91Oct Cheveron Cali gas entire way when possible. did have few stops of Mobile and Circle K I think . Entire trip was to be almost 1300 miles total. I did about 500 of it before it poped.

EDIT: 11:3 was under normal driving if I did WoT in Cali. didnt do much of it since had girl and dog in car but during 3rd and 4th gear runs would hold about 11:2 -11:3

Why dont u rent a uhaul truck and trailer and go get the car yourself? , Hiring a shipping company will be alot more money

I would, but dont have a truck avail, plus never towed a car myself.. Driving expense to Cali at its location then gas expense and everything else just rather spend couple extra hundred to have it delievered. $595.00 is shipping fee with open truck

This is a good idea. will save like 300$. Trailer is 50 a day I know that, go a couple before for my car.
